Fox Tales chapter 5

Tenke tossed and turned, seeing Ishtaar continuing coming into his dream. “Why weren’t you there?” he black wolf said to him, standing in a dark room, nothing see anywhere. “I wanted to see you again.” He said reaching a hand out. Tenke looked at it then up to the wolf’s sad face. “I wanted you” he said again, and began slowly walking towards him. The fox stepped back, making the wolf stop moving. “You…don’t want to see me?” he asked, looking away, “I miss you,” he said, his mood fluxed. Tears started to form in the fox’s eyes.
“I’m sorry, I wanted to be there, I did, I’m really sorry.” He said again, and fell to the ground.
“You know the last thing I thought, my friend, you, that’s the last thing I wanted, is my friend.” He said, his legs blew away like dust, “I’ll be seeing you.” He said as his body was turning to dust
“WAIT.” Tenke said and got up, running to Ishtaar, he went to hug the wolf, but when he touched him, he turned to the sand and disappeared. Tenke sat there crying, a banging sound echoed through the dark. A bright light filled the room suddenly.

Tenke awoke with a gasp, the banging continued; he got up and went to the window, seeing who it was. There was a small kid, he looked at the panther and then walked away from the window, not wanting to be bothered today. ‘What’s that all about?’ he asked himself, ‘maybe I should just see…’ he thought ‘yeah right, what ever.’

The banging consisted for a couple minutes; Tenke finally snapped and went to the door, “What?” he asked, sounding angry. The black fur of the panther shined as he jumped back into the sun. Tenke flattened his ears, “Sorry” he said and walked towards him, the cat moved away. “What is it?” he said sitting down so he was at the kitten’s height. The panther came back into the shade and sat down.
“Sorry Tenke-kun, I was just bored, and wanted to play with you today, all my friends are gone.” He said, and wagged his tail looking up at the fox.
“That sucks, I’m sorry, I just…so much has gone on.” He said getting up and went back into the house. “Maybe later, Kerka” he said and shut the door.
“Aww,” Kerka said getting up and dusting himself off, and walked back towards his house with his tail drooping between his legs,
Tenke stood there for a while before he turned, and opened the door, and shouted after the small boy, “Hey, I’m sorry I’ll play with you” he said, the panther turned back around and smiled now, his tail wagging again. Tenke opened the door and let the kid into his home. “What do you want to do?” he asked the little panther.

The two sat in the house for a long time, huddled around a monopoly board, eventually they got done, Kerka throwing the money up and lay on his back. “Be more mature” he said to the young cat and laughed.
“You cheat though,” he said in a playful whine, then sat back up. “So now what?” he asked him.
“It’s getting late, bed?” he asked him, “you want to spend the night?” he got up and went to get his phone.
“Uhh,” he said looking away slightly “I don’t know,” he said.
“Why not?” he asked and sat down, “it’ll be fun” he smiled.
“Well….” He said looking at Tenke, opening the phone. “I guess so…” he said and sighed, but it was a happier sigh. Tenke smiled at him, leaning back, giving Kerka the phone.

They eventually got the OK from his mom. Kerka naturally took the couch, “Hey, if you want, you can come sleep in the bed.” Tenke offered, Kerka looked away, and then back at the fox, she shook his head slowly.
“Thanks though” he said lying down on the couch.
“Come on,” he said, picking him up, making his mew in surprise. Tenke dropped him on the bed, “see, much more comfortable.” He said and smiled down at the cat, threw the covers on them, he closed his eyes and breathing softly, he fell asleep.

Kerka stayed, looking at him, then he turned onto his back looking at the ceiling, thinking over what was this feeling in side of him. He blinked then turned to Tenke, with out thinking he scooted over and hugged him, kissing him gently on the lips, he pulled back after a second, remaining close to the fox as he drifted off to sleep.
