The Mighty Monarch

I keep intending to do really loose, gestural paintings, but I keep ending up doing much tighter work than planned. Eh.
I bought a new tube of Cadmium Yellow, and so I thought, "Oh, hey, I'll paint the Monarch!" and the idea was to make the painting all about yellow and orange and scarlet, but it ended up purple with some yellow, so...Eh, again.

I will never get tired of drawing The Monarch. Period, end of sentence.
