Threshold
I am the blackgate keeper, your great unhallowed reaper.
So come to me, dear seeker, my only faithless leaper.
Take a breath and time to weep
And then together may we reap
Of all the wonders that we seek
And see them to their final sleep.
Seek shelter in my shadow, and rise again aflame.
And keep your wounds wide open, so I may share your shame.
I will match your will to leap
Watch your creeping forward crawl
I will catch you as you sleep
Rush to meet your flying fall
Chasms are deceptive
Breaching miles of loss
Yet when seen from far away
It's just a step across
I see you at the edge, my dear
But steps away until we meet
So when you fall into my grasp
Just know this: I catch to reap.
Only you I caught to keep.
