This picture was inspired by Japanese courtesans (not geisha, dont mix it up xD)
It was supposed to tell a story of a young yūjo fighting for the top spot as oiran
I actually worked on this quite a bit. Going back and forth sketching haha

but you could really choose any thing from her gallery. her drawing style is so instantly recognisable and unique I think because of the way the characters are exaggerated and cross hatch shaded. Riia is so good at designing outfits for her characters and obviously spends time on the patterns and details. also she's amazing at making stuff herself and has posted tutorials on making skinny jeans etc.
I know the conventional artists that usually are featured have photo-realistic skills or are technical masterpieces but I think Riia's art is full of vibrancy and personality and I think she deserves more recognition for the wonderful designs and works she produces.
