Mirror Mirror on the Wall 1
Mirror Mirror on the Wall, will this last or will this not?
“Mirror Mirror on the Wall, whose the most powerful of them all” said the king.
“Not you” answered the mirror.
“Then shall I have his head?” asked the king.
“No, She shall have yours.” answered the mirror.
“Then how am I meant to live knowing my demise?” asked the king.
“You won’t, your fate is sealed.” answered the mirror before killing the host.
That is how one of the stories go, of what you ask? Of a mirror off course, surely now a days a mirror is but a mere item used to see ones reflections, common and used without fear. But what if there was something else to a mirror, what if they were like genies with powers beyond our understanding, granting wishes and answering questions of the past and future. What if a mirror determined the fate of a world or served as a gate to another? Well, would you believe me if I said they truly did that? To grant a wish and take ones soul, to arc dimensions and fill in holes. Now I’m sure you have expectations or on what is to be, is the wall shatterings of the fourth wall amazing to you? Or do you think ill for such writtings? Surely you may answer if given the time, but now we focus on the matter hand. What kind of story and what kind of character will we meet, a hero in a medival age looking to kill a dragon or maybe a princess wanting to reclaim her kingdom? Or maybe about a boy born with power destined to save the world? But no, none of those will do. For a world to truly shine it must stand apart. So what about this, a world like our own where mirrors are nothing more and nothing less than what you see them as, but that changes when something happens. A bad guy, a genie, a knight and a magician or something of like that comes in and changes the laws of the world. Lots of bad stuff happens, monsters appear, people die, selfish wishes are granted and heroes are born. Total chaos, none know whose real and whose fake, total confusion. Anything can happen and the past and the future are the present and the present is beyond all of that. One moment you’re in Hawaii and the next your in London, one moment you talk to your mom and the next to some guy you don’t know. No, that’d be to random wouldn’t it? What about this…
Once upon a time mirrors held unimaginable power but that power was sealed by a powerful being who came from distant llands and upon testing man with its power, but one who leaved once he saw the results of his actions. Time then passed and the world became what you see it as now, things are normal, the world is inbalanced and stuff at nuts, but something happens, the being that came before us thousands of years before re-appeared and unsealed the power he had sealed long ago. However man doesn’t notice and lets things go out of hands and the children who believe this is real utilize this power to take over while those who let go of their childish and fantasy related dreams kneel, but then violence appears, men with guns shot the children and they then harvested the power for themselves from having learned from the children.
Now let’s add a twist, each mirror is different and mirrors there can only exist two mirrors with the same abilities. If these reflect each others reflection then something happens. The mirrors can create, destroy, connect, disconnect, obey, control, change, affect and alter things as so says their master. The master is the one who holds the mirror for over ten hours, after that the mirror can’t be used by anyone else till the master dies.
But what would a good story be without any characters I must question? The hero and the villain are the key characters in any story, but let’s make them more detailed. The villain could be a misunderstood man who seeks good at the cost of evil and is so perceived at one, and the hero would be an average kid who lifes in a place not yet affected by the mirrors. Now to make them stand out slightly, I’ll contribute to that but only if you promise to keep it a secret. What about these characters have the ability to use and survive any soul bound mirror who steals the users soul once three wishes have been granted and even allow them to be granted more. Sounds to powerful? Oh well what if they are simply able to escape that death? Surely it’s more manageable. That will be what sets them apart and what makes them unique is the ability to use the powers of more than non-soul taking mirror, up to three or they face death.
Now for the supporting cast, the useless, the proud, the unneeded, and those lenghten and make sense of it all. Though lets make haste, my time in this world is coming to a close. So et’s see, a girl, a princess, a demon and a dog; a friend, an immigrant, a revenge seekker and someone loyal. A boy, a traveler, a beast and a lost soul; a rival, an ally, an alliance and one without a host. Those shall be the basic needs for the cast, though many and few will be added at whim, let those mentioned be, the ones whose importance shall be heed.
Now my time is up an I bring this to a finish, good bye, we’re finished.
