Shattered Love
Shattered Love
Chapter 1:
"Gigi," Mrs. Cullen replied, "are you up yet?"
"Huh?" Gigi mumbled.
"Wake up," Mrs. Cullen ordered, "you're going to be late for school if you don't start getting ready."
Gigi just yawned, stretched, and kicked her covers off.
"Mom," she grumbled, "I don't think I'm going to like school very much. I'm the new girl. Things don't go so well for the new students."
Gigi's mother just sighed. "We've been through this several times, hon. Don't worry, alright? You'll make plenty of new friends. Just you see!"
Gigi was not convinced though. She could be a bit stubborn, but she had a reason for once.
With slow movement, Gigi made her way to the bathroom, a towel swung over her shoulder. The hot, comforting water drizzling throughout her fur was very relaxing though.
After toweling herself dry and throwing on some random clothing, she stopped to look at herself in the mirror.
"Good GRIEF," she said, "is THAT the kind of fur I have?"
After brushing through the damp tangles, she darted down the stairs to eat a quick breakfast.
Two poptarts and a glass of milk seemed to satisfy her needs.
Gigi's father looked up from the table, a newspaper in one paw and a mug of coffee in the other.
"Shouldn't you start your day off with a more....eh....NUTRITIOUS breakfast, Gigi?"
"Nope," Gigi replied, swallowing a chunk of her cold, strawberry tart, "don't have the time."
Mr. Cullen just shook his head. "Gigi, Gigi, Gigi. Sometimes I wonder about you. How come you didn't set your alarm to an earlier time?"
Gigi shrugged. "I don't know. I guess I just forgot."
With an uneasy smile, Mr. Cullen went back to the newspaper article he had been reading. "My child," he said under his breath, "my strange, STRANGE child."
After swooshing down the last bit of her tart with milk, Gigi noticed that her bag wasn't even packed.
"Crap," she said with a frown, "that's just peachy!"
She snatched all of her pens, pencils, notebooks, binders, and carelessly tossed them into the bag.
"There's the bus, hon," Mrs. Cullen replied, "have a great first day!"
Gigi just sighed, grabbed her bag, and trudged out of the house with an annoyed expression. That was easy for her to say.
Chapter 2:
The school bell rang, and it was only second hour. Gigi's day wasn't going so well. Her first class that morning was cooking, and some obnoxious pup thought it would be funny to throw a hand-full of flour at her. She still had blotches of it all over her leggings, and this truly aggravated her.
"What a day, what a day," Gigi growled to herself, as she dropped all of her stuff onto the table and sat down, "how could it possibly get any worse?"
"Good morning, class," the teacher beamed, "I'm Mr. Baker and it's my job to teach you fellow students how to properly handle and experiment with toxic chemicals."
"Oh," Gigi griped, as she blew a strand of fur out of her face, "perfect."
As Mr. Baker continued to teach, Gigi just sat there and let her eyes wander.
What a drag.
School was the worst.
Then her eyes detected something interesting.
A student.
A very peculiar student.
Gigi squinted at the dalmatian's paws.
They were long, green, and looked very fragile.
"What the...." Gigi whispered, "why does that dog have paws made out of lettuce?"
Gigi's mind was completely off of chemistry at the moment.
She was in a staring trance.
This dog fascinated her.
It wasn't long until he met her gaze.
His bright, green eyes were like sparkling emeralds, but surrounded by thick layers of black and white fur.
She couldn't help but stare.
The dog grinned at Gigi, revealing the most remarkable white teeth she had ever laid eyes on.
He was flawless.
"Alright, class. You know the drill. Get to work!" Mr. Baker replied.
Then Gigi snapped out of her trance.
"Oh, crap," she scoffed, "now what is it that I'm supposed to do?"
"Hello!" A voice greeted, "my name is Salad Paws. Are you Gigi Cullen....the new student?"
Gigi looked up.
The dog!
"Oh, hello!" Gigi blushed, "yes! Yes I am!"
Salad Paws smiled that same, catchy grin that Gigi admired so much.
"I....I...do you like jokes?" Gigi blurted.
"Um....yes?" Salad Paws answered.
"I....I....I....would you like to hear one?" Gigi pushed.
Salad Paws smiled. "Why of course," he said, "I wouldn't mind a laugh or two."
"Alright," Gigi stuttered, "what did the dog say when he crashed into the moon?"
"AOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!" Salad Paws replied, as he held his head back and released the best wolf impression Gigi had ever heard.
"Um," she began, "yeah. I guess you've already heard that one. Pretty lame joke, but...."
Salad Paws just smiled. "Not at all. I thought it was funny." The same flashy grin.
Gigi couldn't help but smile back, as her cheeks turned a deep, warm, crimson colour.
"You've got quite the smile there," Salad Paws commented, "it really brings out your dimples."
"Oh, stop!" Gigi said with a chuckle, as she waved her paw about.
"Tell me, Gigi," Salad Paws questioned, "have you ever seen a wolf?"
"Um, no," Gigi answered, "why do you ask?"
Salad Paws just sat there and shrugged.
"Oh," he began, "I don't know. Just curious about you."
Gigi smiled a bright smile. "Well I'm curious about you too, SP."
Salad Paws chuckled. "I figured that."
"I'm really starting to like you...and we haven't even known each other for an hour!"
Salad Paws laughed. "So what? Are we the future Romeo and Juliet?"
Gigi nodded. "Oh most definitely!"
Salad Paws just smiled.
Later that night, Gigi found herself walking throughout the park with Salad Paws by her side. The moon-lit sky shined down on them like the blinding light from a treasure chest.
"I had a great time, Salad Paws." Gigi said with awe.
Salad Paws smiled and put an arm around Gigi's shoulder. "So did I, Gigi, So did I."
The crisp, cool scent from Salad Paws' breath made Gigi's nose twitch with delight.
"Gigi," Salad Paws began, "there's something I have to tell you."
"What is it?" Gigi asked, batting her eyelashes.
"Well," Salad Paws choked, "I'm...er...different. I'm not like other dogs."
Gigi raised an eye brow. "What do you mean?"
Salad Paws' fur began to stand on end.
"I'm....I'm...SORRY!" He gasped.
Gigi took a step back.
"S-salad P-paws? Are you....alright?"
Salad Paws crouched down, grasping his stomach in between sputters.
"Salad Paws?!" Gigi pushed.
With quick movement, Salad Paws stood up and looked at Gigi with wide, bright, beaming yellow eyes. The color of his pupils were deep, scarlet red.
"GO AWAY!" Salad Paws boomed with a loud, heinous tone.
Gigi jumped, her body trembling uncontrollably, and without hesitation, she let out a screechy call for help.
"Fool!" Salad Paws scolded, "as if you could out-run me ANYWAYS!" Salad Paws' voice became deeper, deeper, and more threatening by the second.
Gigi couldn't stop crying.
She was terrified.
Saliva dripped from Salad Paws' fangs as he stared at Gigi as if she were a delicious entree.
"Run, girl," Salad Paws hissed, "RUN!"
As fast as a bolt of lightning, Gigi darted off into the night.
Being her clumsy self, Gigi tripped over a tree branch and turned circles throughout the tall stalks of grass.
However, Salad Paws moved twice as fast, and managed to keep up with her.
Gigi, completely covered with scratch marks, stared up at Salad Paws and saw her reflection in the white, slender fangs of breaking death.
This being the last time she would breathe fresh air...................................................
"Gigi? Gigi?" Salad Paws replied, as he nudged her.
"Hm?" Gigi answered, as she sat up and stretched, "what?"
"You fell down a flight of stairs when we were walking to our next class. You took quite the fall. You're in the hospital now."
Gigi blinked in confusion. "Oh...." Her voice trailed off.
As she stared at her scratches, the flashbacks of her nightmare started to come back.
"What's the matter?" Salad Paws asked, as he touched her cheek.
"Oh, nothing. Nothing at all." Gigi answered a little too quickly.
Salad Paws just smiled and laughed, his voice sounding a little deeper than usual.
"......Whuh?" Gigi mumbled.
"Hm?" Salad Paws shot back.
Gigi just placed a paw on her forehead. "Ugh," she grumbled, "what a dream!"
Salad Paws just stood up, patted Gigi on the head, and left the room.
"Sleep well...little one...and dream away those nightmares of truth." Salad Paws said to himself, as he smiled with his fangs exposed, the reflection of Gigi's terror-struck eyes becoming visible for the final time.

I really like your style of writing. Nice description and word choice

I am curious, though, as to what Gigi is. A dog, I'm guessing? But what breed?
I would've never thought of making a dog a werewolf
