Chapter 4 “Beyond Shikai”

The trek to the Urahara Shop that Fame Del Drago had mentioned was harder then I thought, of course, it was mostly the wound on my chest. While it had healed a bit, it was still fresh and bleeding, and it pained me to take even just one step. I’ve been walking for about ten minutes now, and my goal is in sight, but I was beginning to black out. I saw two children, one with spiked red hair, the other with black hair tied into two pigtails, they seemed to see me, but at that point I fell to the ground, terribly drained of my strength and finally blacked out.

When I awoke, I appeared to be inside the Urahara Shop. My chest wound had been bandaged up, I’ll have to remember to thank whoever did that. I then realised two things, first Fame Del Drago was nowhere in sight, second, I was no longer wearing my Shihakusho anymore, rather I was wearing a black sleeveless coat, white jeans and black and white sneakers, so my conclusion is that I was in a gigai. I got up and began to look around, see if I could find Urahara himself, or at the very least, someone who could direct me to him. While I searched, I could feel something or someone’s Reiatsu...below me?“ Maybe I should follow it.” I said to myself, and so I did. Following it, I eventually came across a underground chamber...a very large underground chamber, which had a celling that looked like the blue sky uptop, and below me as I descend the ladder which brought one down to the wide wasteland below, I noticed two Shinigami in combat, as well another man standing watching the two go at it. As I made my approach, the third man became all too familier, he had also noticed my approach and turned to wave.

“Well, already up and walking I see.” He said, I nodded in response.” So, who are you and what brings you to the Urahara Shop?” He asks in a abnormally cheery tone, I began to wonder if this really was Kisuke Urahara, former Captain of Squad Twelve and founder and former Head of Research and Development.

“I’m Ryan Knowles, and my Zanpaktuo told me to come here.” I answered.” I assume your Kisuke Urahara, right?” I inquired.

“The one and only, and I suggest we move.” He answers, placing a hand on my shoulder and we then disappear and reappear elsewhere as a large blue blast of reiatsu demolishes the area we were just in.

“Who are those two, and why are they fighting?” I asked him, and to my question, he chuckled.

“Oh, they’re not fighting, merely training.” He began.” The one over there.” He says, pointing the cane he is carrying towards one of the two Shinigami, the Shinigami in question holding a blade with no guard, no hilt, just a large silver blade with a black edge.” That’s Ichigo Kurosaki, and I’m sure you’ve noticed his Zanpaktuo, Zangetsu.” He continues, at which point I realise that he was the human I had seen earlier.” The other one, is Daisuke Reiji of Squad Eleven.” He continues, pointing at the other one, who had white hair and his eyes were pale blue. I noticed was not wielding a Zanpaktuo, despite his opponeant wielding a weapon that essitanly a large butcher knife.

“Wouldn’t it be better if they were both armed?” I asked, curious as to why the white haired Shinigami chose to not wield his Zanpaktuo.

“You obviously don’t know Daisuke too well.” Answers Urahara.” Daisuke’s Reiatsu is so immense, that it is believed he could fight with Kenpachi Zaraki on even grounds without releasing his Zanpaktuo.” He says, which shocked me. Fighting Zaraki on even ground, without releasing a Zanpaktuo, against that monster of a Captain of Squad Eleven.” But enough about those two, you didn’t answer as to why you’re here.” Said Urahara, snapping me back to reality.

“Bankai, ask him about learning Bankai in three days.” I heard Drago say, though I couldn’t see him. Bankai, learning it in three days? I had a small feeling that my own Zanpaktuo was playing me for a fool, but I guess I have no other choice.

“Yeah, you’re right.” I said in response to Urahara.” I was wondering if you knew anything about achiving Bankai in three days, do you?” I asked, Urahara didn‘t reply, but I noticed a grin form on his face, which made me feel...uneasy.
