Pan

Do you remember the children's game of two truths, one lie?

I am Pan.
It was I who guarded the coming of spring through generations, I who loved the land and chased an Echo. It was I who watched over the mountains as the years passed, turning all gray but I. For I am a god, the last of my kind, and the only one who yet cares for what the world has become.

I am Pandora.
It was I who let evil escape into the world, I who allowed horrors and monsters to become real. It was I who left behind only hope for people to grasp. And I cannot regret it, no matter how much they curse my impudence. For once you have grasped hope, you have grasped everything.

I am Pangaea.
It was I who was there in the beginning, I who nurtured life and saw the world come to life. It was I who watched my children born, watched them die, and endless cycle of rejoicing and mourning. For without them, the world as we know it would not exist at all.

I am Pandemonium.
It was I who reached out to touch chaos, I who struggled against the conventions of order. It was I, and I alone, who defends this stepchild to the gods, knowing that it must exist and prosper. For without chaos, there can be no order.

I am Pansophy.
It was I who brought learning to all, I who whispered the secrets of the universe into the ears of those who would hear them. It was I who dragged humanity kicking and screaming out of the darkness in their minds. For if there is no knowledge, then there can be no people.

I am Panacea.
It was I who comforted them in their darkest moments, I who allowed them to come to me in so many times of need. It was I who waited patiently for them to accept happiness, as humanity has the curious trait of rejecting that which they so desperately need. For if everyone received exactly what they thought they wanted, they would have no peace at all.

It was I who was there at the beginning, and everything thereafter.
You may see me now.

This is a character concept.

I don't know who she is. I don't know what her story will be about, or if it will even be hers. All I know is that she calls herself Pan, and she tells each person she meets a different long version of the name. The idea just randomly popped into my head.

"Pansophy" is universal knowledge or wisdom, by the way. XD It took awhile to think of all of these.
