CTG part eight

Part Eight: Just a Little Fight (yeah right)
It was a little after 9:30 AM as Michiyo lifelessly walked to the bridge. Last night wasn’t good… things were spiraling downward. There had to be a connection between her memory episodes and what was happening to her body. She supposed that they were triggered by spending time with her team... But things could get dangerous, according to the last memory she had, in the ramen shop. It made her even more sullen just to think about last night.
‘I’m going to see what happens, I suppose. I can’t afford to bring all of Konoha down around my ears!’
Her train of thought sidetracked to her team and the meeting for today. She actually had no idea whatsoever when she was supposed to be there, but Kakashi’s late behavior suggested that this position had…*ahem* certain leniencies. After all, she could get away with it if Kakashi could, right? Walking through Konoha’s streets, it was entirely plausible that she could run into him right now, procrastinating. She chuckled at the thought.
‘It WOULD be like him…!’
Michiyo smiled, now in a good mood, when she passed by the glass window of a bookstore.
Any and all cheer had fled from Michiyo’s face, and it showed.

There he was, in the adult section, right in front of the window. He was reading a book that looked to be in the same series of the adult book from the exercise yesterday. His body was turned, so she saw him in profile as he chuckled and blushed. But that wasn’t what irked her; nor was it particularly the crumpled note sticking out of his back pocket that read: Mich—meeti—bridge at—eig—AM. No, it was the combined picture with the note and ferocious blush and embarrassed grin that REALLY did it.

‘HE’S BEEN READING A PERVERT BOOK FOR OVER AN HOUR!!?!!?’

“KAKASHIIIIIII!!!”

Kakashi turned around to see Michiyo. He would have grinned if he hadn’t seen the disturbing light in her eyes directed at him. The hand he raised to wave, stopped in the air as he wondered what he should do.
‘Yeah, she saw the note …’ He put on a nervous smile.
“Hello, Michiyo! I see you’re wearing your vest today! That’s good; you should get into the habit. So, did… did you want something?” He let his hand fall.
“…Kakashi, why don’t you put that book down already, and get your procrastinating butt over to the bridge you told everyone to get to!?” Michiyo was pretty ticked.
Kakashi let his smile fade and narrowed his eyes. Instead, he walked over to the counter and bought it, much to Michiyo’s annoyance. He walked out of the store and Michiyo started to immediately scold him.
“I can’t believe you spent an entire”-
Her sentence was interrupted by Kakashi’s hand roughly slapping down on her mouth.
“You’re one annoying kid, you know that?” He looked over at Michiyo angry as well.
“What’s your deal?!” Michiyo shot back. She pulled off his hand. “You spent over an hour just reading that book while our team has been waiting for us both forever!!”
Michiyo ignored the little voice in her head that told her that she herself had taken advantage of that fact earlier this morning. Personal experience made her sympathize with the genin.
“I’m still a bit more of an adult than you are. Try respecting others a bit more. You’re still just a kid, because you haven’t trodden this earth longer than I have, correct?!”
Michiyo really had just about enough of this ninja pride.
“According to what I told you, idiot!!”
Kakashi drew back in surprise. But the recoil was brief, for he grabbed Michiyo’s arm and tugged her towards an alleyway which they both went down. He finally stopped a good hundred yards down.
“Are you saying that you’re hiding something?!” Kakashi demanded.
Michiyo stayed silent. Kakashi’s grip on her strengthened.
“Kakashi… that doesn’t hurt, you know. Not in the least…” Michiyo replied sullenly. She looked up at Kakashi with a strange light in her eyes.
“I’m only doing this to save the village. You said to be loyal to the village. So I’m protecting it. Don’t…”
Michiyo’s expression grew frustrated with anger and pain.

“Don’t you push me.”
“Michiyo, what is it you’re GETTING at?” Kakashi grew serious.
“…Kakashi, why is your hair white?”
“…WHAT?? Why on earth are you asking me that?!”
Michiyo dropped her head.
“…Fine. I was born like this. My father had the same hair. Satisfied?”
“WHAT?!!” Michiyo suddenly came to life, eyes wide.
Kakashi didn’t know what to make of it; this girl had the strangest questions. Her past was more tangled than a rose thorn bush.
“Kakashi… Hatake….”
Michiyo looked away, trying to remember something. Then it hit her.

[“Fujika, as I told your friend, you now have a member that will become part of your team on missions. He’s right here.”
She looked at the teenage boy. He was good-looking, and had a lean build with knives hanging at his sash. But what really drew her attention was his long white hair. His eyes were coal black and almond-shaped. He was from the East?
“His name is Fenrir Hatake.”]

“I knew your ancestor!” Michiyo burst out in realization.
“…Is that what this was about?”
“No, no… Kakashi, I’ll give you a bit of information. Who was Fenrir Hatake?”
Kakashi’s grip loosened before tightening so hard it would have crushed wood. That was enough power to make it hurt.
“You knew him?! Fenrir Hatake?!”
“Yes. I won’t tell you anymore, because you ought to know that you should really stop right there. I wasn’t lying in yesterday’s inquisition that I was part of THE Order. Watch who you’re dealing with.” Michiyo leveled her own glare at Kakashi. It was the glare she reserved for her enemies.
Kakashi’s own eyes widened.
“I HAVE walked the Earth, for much longer than any human has been able. I was born in an age where paradise and hell collided easily and often. Most of you now wouldn’t have lived for much more than a week, the Hokage I’d give about a year. Beasts such as the likes of which you have never seen for millennia were rampant in these tranquil little forests of now. DO YOU REALLY KNOW WHO YOU’RE DEALING WITH KAKASHI??” Michiyo knew she was recklessly breaking her cover. It was always a fight between her and her temper, but she almost always won. But it was too easy to lash out at these ignorant… she couldn’t think straight now….
Kakashi snatched his hand back like Michiyo was a snake that almost bit him.
“I remember you saying that you’re unable to die. Is there something more?”
Michiyo looked at him with a smirk tainted with dark humor.
“Kakashi, there’s ALWAYS something more.”
She then took Kakashi’s arm, and yanked him up into the air with her as she crouched, looked up, and jumped up 50 feet into the air.
“Can you really deal with someone like me??” Michiyo flashed him that dark smirk.
She then quickly spun horizontally and let go of Kakashi after one quick revolution. Kakashi went falling out of control for breathless seconds. He recovered at the last second, spinning to increase air resistance and dropped roughly onto a rooftop thirty yards away.
‘W-What…power…’
He mentally geared himself for top-level combat.
‘If I don’t watch it, she’ll kill me within the minute!!’ He looked at Michiyo.
Michiyo had landed on top of a spire, balanced on one foot.
“Michiyo!! What are you doing?!”
“I’m showing you. Answering your questions. Call it what you will!! I’m tired of taking crap from you little ‘ninja’!”
Michiyo leaped from her spire, disappeared, and reappeared behind Kakashi the next. He looked behind him-
“You’re too slow!!”
Michiyo punched him hard across the face, rapidly uppercut, and then kicked him in the gut to send him flying into the forest. Within two seconds, too. Michiyo smirked evilly to herself.
‘That felt incredible!!!’ She smiled exuberantly, with the thrill of battle. Just as quickly as it had come, Michiyo gasped and bent in half.
‘No, crap… it’s getting worse… oh god, it hurts! I can’t believe that little action is rousing all that bloodlust…!’ Michiyo grasped at her left breast, where her heart would be. She tasted the metallic pang of blood growing at the back of her throat. She muttered, rasped, strange sounds that strangely were painting images in the air around her by… twisting… the air itself. Echoing throughout the land, yet staying mute in their swirling visages. The pain in her heart ceased, as she rose.
‘I better go see if the perv is alive. I think he is… he’s one hard bugger to kill.’
“KAKASHI!! YOU ALIVE IN THERE?!” Michiyo cupped her hands to her mouth as she yelled into the forest. She waited.
“Maybe… maybe not….”
Michiyo turned on her heel.
She felt a presence behind her.
“Going to the hospital without me?”
A kunai thrown at her was never going to find its mark, as Michiyo swiftly turned, grabbed it, and dodged, blocked and weaved through the following shuriken and kunai. She also advanced in the direction of a form so fast, only she would see it. This was Kakashi, of course. The kick was grabbed by the ankle as she tugged on it before Kakashi could see what was happening. Her kunai, thrust outward, slammed into Kakashi’s heart. A slam was heard as his lifeblood burst out from him.

Kakashi was dead.
Or at least, his clone was.

A poof engulfed her like she knew it would. Kakashi would never try such a stupid frontal assault against her. It didn’t matter how fast he was; he would never match her speed even if he trained for the rest of his life. And he knew it.
“Come on out Kakashi! I know you’re there!”
No answer.
“Rrrrrrrggh.”
Michiyo knew it was stupid, but…
“Fine! I’ll come to you!” She dashed ahead into the trees.
‘I have every reason to believe this is a trap, but… what can I do? I can’t just leave with Kakashi on my tail, trying to attack me now. …This is what I get, I guess. Kakashi, I swear to you though, I’m gonna make your life living hell if no one else is!’
Michiyo leaped from tree to tree, using every sense available to her. She couldn’t smell him anywhere, nor could she feel any certain vibrations. But those were easy to conceal. It was hearing and sight that were more difficult. An accomplished tracker could follow signs of passage, not to mention if you had really good hearing, then you could hear the snaps and thuds of traveling feet by pressing your ear to the tree. When you started using the environment instead of just yourself, was when you got results. But, this Kakashi was good! Michiyo couldn’t sense anything, even with her inhuman senses.
‘Guess I’ll have to cheat. Sorry, but I don’t get bothered TOO much using this.’
Michiyo stopped on a tree, and crouched with her back to the trunk. Her hands rested on the bark behind and under her. Closing her eyes, she let her chakra flow, loosing the restrictions she put on it daily. After all, tremendous chakra like hers wasn’t exactly the norm for these cute little ninja. Before the chakra could explode from her body in its surge of freedom, she channeled it into her hands, and used THAT technique. Chakra was purple for Michiyo. Such was the case as she opened her eyes and twined her own into the tree and around its own. The moment the chakra reached the ground, she purposely let her chakra go crazy.

It exploded, surrounding the chakra network of every living thing there. Instantly, she gained a mental image of the entire forest, from every perspective there was. SHE was the forest; the forest was inside of her.

She smiled to herself.

No one could notice this chakra inside of them. Only those who were extremely sensitive to chakra, or had extensive knowledge of chakra and knew it well, or both, would know. And even then, it was a feeling like a sudden case of the butterflies. Very faint. VE-RY.

She had used this selfsame technique to map and locate the positions of guards, understand what was happening behind closed doors; it was a HUGE help, always getting her out of a situation. There was just one problem. It was very hard to control. It ate away at her chakra the longer she used it. Sure, chakra steadily comes back. But it wasn’t the case with hers.
When she used her ‘special’ chakra, it was virtually possible to DO anything. Once, she brought back ten acres of forest to life. The thing was, after about ten seconds after the thing was performed, she fell unconscious. She didn’t wake up until almost a week later. The upside was that every time she used that ‘special’ chakra, it multiplied itself. The OTHER downside was sudden pain like what recently happened.

‘It’s too delicate a balance…’ She thought ruefully.

Her map wavered, and she remembered the task at hand.
‘Wait, where is he?! He should be here! Everything that is contacting anything I should be seeing! Unless… he’s out of range or’-
Michiyo let go of the technique, sucked up and bound her chakra, and whipped her head up to see Kakashi in air just above her.
‘DAMN!’
That technique always needed some recovering time.
“And you’re too late!”
Kakashi made hand signs unknown to Michiyo, when he suddenly yelled out something. Michiyo had no idea what it was. Her head was foggy, making sure to put all that crazy chakra back, back…
Well, she sure as hell was wide awake when a giant part of the earth rose up from the ground forty feet below her, slammed into her, and then carried her a good thirty before flinging her above the trees at a frightful speed. She arced, unable to do anything but gather her chakra and use the blasted monster thing to cushion her fall.
‘Course, that was before she saw the red bridge and her team standing around underneath her.
‘...SHIT.’
She heard parts of their blessedly peaceful conversation as she hurtled above a good eighty, give or take a dozen feet, above them all.
‘Damn, this is gonna really screw up our morning.’
“Sheesh, where is Kakashi-sensei and Michiyo- uh, I mean, Fujioka-sensei?” Sakura exasperated.
“You make her sound like she’s a big adult now, Sakura!” Naruto commented.
“She IS our sensei, now, so I have to call her that! Naruto!” Sakura spewed back.
“…Humph. I still don’t believe that that she really did beat Kakashi. There’s just no way… She’s still just a genin.” Sasuke sulked.
“You don’t believe Kakashi-sensei?” Naruto asked, plaintively shocked.
“No. No matter how you look at it, she’s still just 12 years old, like the rest of us. Even… people who advance quickly do so by the exams, and not a single one would have the level to beat Kakashi at our age.”
‘That was the most I’ve heard from Uchiha in a long time… I had no idea he could talk for longer than 15 seconds.’
But that was not of importance. First opinions were water under the bridge, so…
‘WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE!!!’
Of course. She wasn’t going crash land into the forest, their state of mind still blessed. Nawww, of COURSE not! She was going to crash-land in front of them all, smack into the water.

Well wasn’t that just lovely.

On top of that pile of problem, she saw Kakashi spring out from the trees, hands in a sign, ready to unleash yet another attack.

And now the three looked up. Saw Kakashi.

“Kakashi –sensei! What took you so long!?”
It was met with silence, and a glare straight ahead.
This was followed.
Which lead to Michiyo high above them, almost to the other bank.

“Michiyo!! What’re you”-
All three gaped as Kakashi moved his mouth, obviously speaking something, which led to the hand sign, which led to the fact that Michiyo was hurtling in the direction away from Kakashi. An impossible thought wormed into their heads.
‘WH-what…!?’
‘Why is he using a hand sign and chasing after Michiyo…!?’
‘Master Kakashi is attacking her!? WHY?’

THEN A BIG, HUGE, GINORMOUS HUNK OF EARTH UPHEAVED ITSELF FROM THE BANK, AND ACHIEVED THE SHAPE OF A TROLL-LIKE FIGURE BEFORE SLAMMING INTO HER.

‘HOLY SHI’-
*WHAAAAAMMM!!!*
It definitely hurt.
“YEEEEEAAAAAAARAAGGGGGGHHH!!!!!”

It swallowed Michiyo whole and slammed into the river, creating a tidal wave.

All three stood there, not sure just quite what happened.

Kakashi landed on top of the bridge’s entry arch and stood there panting.
‘That… really took up a lot of chakra… she better… cool down in there before she comes out…’
“AAaaargh!” Kakashi fell to his knee, and wrapped an arm around his middle.
‘Damn… as if those punches of hers weren’t enough, her kick just had to fracture my ribs…!’
He crouched there panting and huffing.
“Kakashi-sensei?” Sakura questioned.
Kakashi looked down at his students.
‘Well, this is convenient.’ He thought dryly.
At the very least, now they saw that they had a formidable sensei. Well, they were going to find out they had one formidable one, and one that would scare them half to death, either way…
“Yes, Sakura?”
“Why were you attacking Michiyo, HUH!?” Naruto butted in.
‘He certainly gets to the point….’
“Umm… it was a silly sparring match really. It got overheated, as we got into it. So I decided to end it.”
“Overheated… that’s an understatement. What really happened?” Sasuke coolly lifted his gaze.
“What did you do to yourself, Kakashi-sensei?” Sakura pointed at his chest.
“Oh…this? Courtesy of your other sensei.”
“Michiyo managed to do something to you? Seriously?! What’d she do!?” Naruto got excited.
“Knock it off, Naruto. Can’t you see he’s hurt!?”
“Yeah, but it’s pretty cool that Michiyo got a hit in on him!”
‘That is something, I’ll give her that.’ Sasuke inwardly admitted.
Meanwhile, Michiyo was fuming about the whole thing, trapped underwater in a tiny, cramped, Kakashi-made cave. She struggled at her earth bonds, trying to break them slowly so she wouldn’t punch or kick a hole in the cave wall, and drown herself. She’d then get carted off by those people again, and then God knows where she’ll end up. Not being able to die, in her special way, was really annoying at times.
“Uuuurgh!” There, one arm was free.
She worked on her other bonds, ‘till she was completely free. She couldn’t wait to get out of there, and whip Kakashi into next week. But first, she needed a way to get out of there. Though at the same time, Kakashi could easily see her form in the river and get her. And if she did it sneaky, at best she would have to sneak attack him in a relatively fair fight.
‘So what to do… hold on.’
She thought of it! But, it wouldn’t be easy, not to mention it was too flashy of her abilities….
‘He really ticks me off, but I can’t…’
‘But he and that nosy bunch of ninja were poking around in my past so much! Why can’t he see that it’s better to leave and let be!?’
‘It would blow my cover, potentially; I don’t think I can take that risk…’
‘Yet there are geniuses according to that hater, so why not? I’m already a jounin, so what’s the point!!?’
‘Then, it wouldn’t matter, if I went out there… I hate that annoying idiot, anyway!’
‘After all he’s just a pale imitation of him, giving disgrace to his ancestor!!’
‘I’m gonna turn him into a bloody pulp!!’
Michiyo felt it happening, but she couldn’t stop it any more. The surges of power within her; her limits were being obliterated to nothingness from being overwhelmed…

“It’s true, she did,” Kakashi answered to Sasuke’s disbelieving eyes. “She fractured my ribs, and I’ll have some nasty bruises in the morning.”
“Are you kidding me!?” Sasuke’s face could not have been more priceless.
“No. And, oh, look, here she comes now.”
All turned to the river as bubbles rose to the surface. They watched them increase in number and the current started to eddy around that spot.
“Michiyo, you in there?” Naruto called out.
“Of course she is, idiot.” Sasuke got back into character.
“Michiyo, come on out already. Let’s calm down now.”

The water was blown high into the air, maybe thirty feet, spraying in all directions. As the genin covered their faces from the spray, chakra was revealed, going up in a huge column of light and power that repelled the water. In front of that massive amount of chakra, was Michiyo herself, thrown into shadow, boiling mad and looking to be the end of all things.
“Calm down? HAH! Calm down?! Kakashi, I’m going to murder you if you continue to make such bad jokes. I want to KILL YOU!!”
”M-Michiyo?!”
‘Whoa… this chakra is massive!’
‘How does she manage to have all that chakra?!
‘What IS this girl!!??’
Kakashi didn’t waste any time hopping off the arch, since Michiyo threw herself at him. Good thing he did too, because in one second, the arch was in pieces, scattered about the crater which Michiyo was in the middle of.
‘Oh…MY…GOD.’ Sakura couldn't be less composed.
‘Oh, man!!’ Naruto gaped.
‘What in the-!!’ Sasuke stared in half-shock, half-horror.
‘…Too close.’ Kakashi thought.
