LIEK, wow! Nova makes her first appearance in my gallery. Unfortunately, I'm not too incredibly certain this looks exactly like her, but oh well. I worked on her face for such a long time-- I think I forgot exactly what I was looking for. Phooey. At any rate, there is some resemblance. Anyhoo, I worked on this picture for some time, and finally managed to finish it this week. I don't mind it too much. This is the first time I've done a full body shot or a background in AGES. I mainly did this to polish my anatomy, but after I finished it I decided I wanted a background, so here it is!

The symbolism in this picture:
Well, first off, the whites of her eyes are purple because she's channeling lightning magna. The pseudo-gem type thing in her staff/scepter is glowing purple for the same reason. The purple, eight-pointed star on her armor (along with her black/grey eye makeup) signifies that she's a Valedor, capable of doing all 8 elements (fire, water, air, thunder, earth, ice, light, and dark), but the 6 dots above her left eyebrow is a symbol that she's only proficient with six of them (or a near equivalent ). The green sphere in her breastplate is a symbol that she has some sort of guardian, in her case, big ol' Keagan, who picked out the more masculine pieces of her outfit.

This is her later outfit, when she's older and -I dunno- better, not her school uniform. This is what she wears (and essentially what she usually ends up doing ) when she travels to Oasara, as a representative for her country to the Council of Malendor, who handles pretty much all magna-related crimes and affairs in Nova's world.
Despite all the good things they do (handling law-breakers and what not), Malendor has a very dark streak of corruption, and Nova constantly comes face to face with it, seeing as a lot of the corruption she finds is directly related to her own country for reasons she repeatedly attempts to discover.
But when she tries to dig deeper into this problem, that's when a situation like this occurs, and she finds herself on a tower, darned aggravated and ready to zap the daylights out of some crooked Malendor official who's going to KEEL her.
And judging by the fact there's a thunderstorm coming and she's fighting, she must be really angry, because Nova+T-Storms= teh fear.

But anyway, that's enough backstory or whatever.
