Trembling, Kigiko launched herself at Kokono with a mangled shriek, clawed fingers reaching frantically for her throat. Unflinching, Kokono ran to meet her, fists clasped against her sword’s hilt with deadly momentum as she plunged it into Kigiko’s stomach. Head snapping up, Kokono’s eyes could not turn from the glassy, desperate stare that greeted her as she poured every measure of the black energy pulsing hungrily in her body into the morbid conductor clutched in her hands. In restless moments, Kigiko slumped over, and Kokono’s grip finally released, letting her opponent slide clatteringly to the floor, another corpse.
