TLOZ: RTT: Chapter 3: Welcome To...
Link, Saria, and Epona made it through the Lost Woods with no Trouble, except for a Business Scrub here and there. When they reached the tunnel to Termina, Link pulled out his Goron Mask and jumped off of Epona. "I want you to direct Epona through here about ten seconds after I go, so she won't get scared." Link told Saria. "Scared of what?" Saria was confused. Link put the Mask on, and Epona started backing away quickly. "Of me. She's so much smaller than me, she's afraid I'll squish her! Just follow the dent in the ground." 'Darmani' started rolling through the tunnel, leaving Saria and Epona behind. Saria started counting to herself. "Seven, eight, nine, ten. Ready, Epona?" Epona started walking forward, through the tunnel, then started running like a dog chasing a scent. When they reached the end of the tunnel, neither Saria nor Epona could see Link, in Hylian or Goron form. Instead, they saw a tall, white figure standing at the end. Saria slowly directed Epona to the figure. "Hello, Saria. I am Mikau, of the Zora tribe." The figure, now a Zora named Mikau, said. Saria looked around, then looked back at the Zora. "...Link? Is that you?" Saria did what Link said, but couldn't see him. The Zora started laughing a little, and put his hands to his face. In an instant, Link was holding a Mask that resembled the Guitar-playing Zora, Mikau. Link started laughing and put the Mask away. "This way, Saria." Link, Saria and Epona started walking forward, through another tunnel.
"It's been far too long, Link. You left me here and took the rest of them with you when you left!" A dark, evil voice called out. At that moment, Link, Saria and Epona stopped in their tracks. "Take cover, Saria. I don't want you getting hurt." Saria took Epona over to the side. A Mask appeared from thin air, just floating, glaring into Link's soul, waiting. The Mask had Link's face, with white hair, and markings on the face. Link stepped back in fear. It was the evil of the Fierce Deity Mask calling out to Link. "I felt your presence here earlier, so I waited for you to return." The Mask flew straight past Link and attatched itself to Saria's face.
"Saria, NO!" Link started running twoard Saria, who was screaming in agony and horror. "Link! Help me!" It was too late. The transformation had finished. Link didn't see his friend; he saw a statue of evil. In her right hand, a sword of pure evil. "This isn't Saria." Link thought, "This is a Mask of evil that has taken over her body. I can't let personal emotions get in my way; I have to take that mask off!" Link continued looking at the figure. No pupils in her eyes, snow white hair, sinister grin which would even make Ganondorf cry like a baby, the same facial markings, shining silver armor, the works. Worst part about it, she wasn't charging at Link; she was slowly walking, laughing as she got closer. "The evil is too strong for Saria to control! She's just a puppet!" Link had to act fast. He quickly pulled out his bow and light-enfused arrows, and began to shoot at the Deity. Every arrow shot at the Deity was blocked by a single arm. Link couldn't do this alone. He needed help. He needed soldiers.
With the word "Soldier" in mind, Link quickly pulled out his Ocarina and played the Skin-Shedding Elegy, and a statue of Link appeared right where Link was standing. Link couldn't quite figure it out, but there was something different about the Soldier With No Soul, then he realized what it was: It had no platform. Like a real soldier, the figure of Link stood perfectly still, awaiting any order. Link smiled and pulled out the Goron Mask, and put it on while keeping distance from the Deity. As a Goron, Link played the Skin-Shedding Elegy on the Goron Drum, and another Soldier appeared. This time, of Darmani standing, also awaiting orders. Link quickly switched Masks to the soul of Mikau, and, once again, played the Skin-Shedding Elegy. There were now three soldiers awaiting orders. Back as a Hylian, Link ordered all the Soldiers to attack, and at that moment, the three soldiers and Link ran up and began to attack the Deity.
Nothing seemed to be working. No matter how hard Link and the soldiers hit the Deity, nothing was working, until Link noticed a little dot on the back of the Deity. Link had an idea. While Link was pulling out his Hookshot, the Deity destroyed the three soldiers that...Well...didn't help Link too much. Link couldn't do it on his own, though; he needed the Deity to be distracted so he could get a clear shot. As Link began pulling out his Ocarina to play the Skin-Shedding Elegy again, the Deity swung at Link, making him drop the Ocarina. Dammit, Link thought, I need to keep this thing distracted long enough so I can attack it! With the Hookshot ready, Link ran straight twoards the Deity and released the Hookshot. As Link had planned, the Deity smacked the Hookshot away from itself, giving Link enough time to pull out a Bomb, light it, and throw it at the Deity. The Deity had finally had enough, and swung its sword at Link, knocking him to the ground.
"This is the best you can do, Link? Help me, Link!" Saria was still fighting the Masks' evil power, and losing...quickly. Link quickly got back on his feet, and began thinking about Saria...when she first taught him the Song of the Woods - Saria's Song. Luckily, when the Deity knocked Link, it knocked him twoards the Ocarina. Link ran over to the Ocarina and picked it up. Still running from the Deity, Link began playing Saria's Song. The Deity placed its hands up to its mouth, as if also holding an Ocarina, playing along with Link. Link started walking closer to the Deity, and able to use his foot to pick it up. Link quickly put away his Ocarina and shouted "Your turn!" telling the Deity to keep playing. This was Link's chance to finally save Saria from the evil power of that Mask. Again with Hookshot set, Link ran up to the Deity, between it's legs, and shot at the dot on its' back. Link was able to himself up onto the Deity. He quickly drew his sword, and stabbed the eyes of the Mask. Both the Deity and Saria began screaming, and tears started running down Links' face. He had no intentions of hurting Saria, but to save her, he also had to hurt her. The Deity dropped the evil blade and began covering its' face. Link had just about finished off the Deity.
Putting away the Hookshot and his Sword, Link pulled out the Goron's Mask, and put it on, transforming into Darmani. Link had a hard time keeping himself balanced on the Deitys' shoulder, but was able to perform the Goron Pound on the shoulder, making the Deity drop to the ground. Link quickly took off that mask, and put on the Zora's Mask. As a Zora, Link has the ability to create a shield of lightning around himself. With that knowledge in mind, Zora-Link quickly ran to the Deitys' chest area, and surrounded himself in lightning, electrocuting the Deity, as well as paralyzing it for a short time. Again, Link was able to hear the screams of Saria, as well as the Deity. I'm just about done with you, you evil Mask! This is the end! Link took off the Zora's Mask, and placed the Deku mask on his face. As a Deku, Link is able to bury into certain spots on the ground, and the Deity's lower ab area had the same marking as where Deku Link could burrow into. Saria...Link couldn't get the sound of Saria's screams out of his head. Deku Link quickly ran to the spot on the Deity's abs where there was a possibility that he could bury into. Link approached the area, and was in fact able to bury into the area! As Link burrowed into the Deity's abs, he could, again, hear two different screams. The Deity's body now had a big hole in it's chest. Big enough for...a Goron to squish the insides. Returning to the Goron form, Link performed a Goron Pound in the hole, creating a hole to the other side of the deity. This thing isn't moving for a while. I think I know how to get the Mask off now! Link thought. Tuning out the screams, Link pulled out his Ocarina and began playing the Song of Healing.
As he played the song, the screams began to weaken, and the Deitys' body began to shrink, and the body began turning back to Sarias', leaving nothing but the Mask, completely torn up, laying next to her. As Link walked twoard the Mask, it had started to vanish, while laughing. Link didn't think much of it, and pulled a bottle out that had a bright Pink fairy in it. The bottle opened, and the Fairy flew around Saria, healing the major wounds. Saria began to open her eyes, and tried to sit up, but fell back over. "Link? What happened?" Saria had tears in her eyes as she stared at Link. Link, like Saria, had tears in his eyes. "Nothing," Link said, smiling, "Nothing at all. You tripped, and hurt yourself. Just stay calm, and keep yourself balanced on Epona. We're almost to Termina." Link helped Saria up, called Epona over, and helped Saria get onto Epona's back. I can't tell her what happened, Link thought, it'd be too much for her to handle. Link could feel the weather changing, and the winds picking up. One more tunnel, down the cliff, and they arrive in the parallel world - Termina.
