Well.... I'm no expert really. I'm still trying to figure out how to make ground planes work. Nut I am sharing what I do know with others. If anyone knows a better method to set up feet for a ground plane, I'd love to hear it.

I forget exactly how Ms. Carlson demonstrated this trick. What you do is you draw flat circles for the heel and ball on the sole of the character's foot, and add the foot on top. You also have to be very careful to add at least a slight arch to the inside of the foot, so it looks more grounded, and not floating in space. Another thing to remember is this trapezoid thingy here, you probably won't need it with practice. You put this here so you can keep track of the ground plane, and how far both toes of the feet should go to be within the realm of believability. I think I made the right foot on the bottom a tad lower than it should be. But it's working, I think.
