in my mind nothing makes sense
i'm nothing you can't have
cracked up to be discreet
that's all we've ever had
you
only you
only you
only you can't be the one

only you can't be the one ...
skunk anansie - infidelity
[listen]
This is one of the first pics I drew during my
week offline, so it is a bit sloppy. It's a gift
for my friend, of her Demitry and my Arliss. They
are from opposing werewolf packs, so they have
this whole Romeo and Juliet thing going on, which
is only made worse by the fact that they begin to
wolf-bond [best word i can think of]... although
eventually the hatred does overtake their need for
one another, and they become enemies...
I was doodling something else when the Skunk Anansie
song came on my mp3 player and erased what I had and
then this came out. It just fits them so well :< /hug
These charas are also in my dream*scar story, and Arliss
becomes Vix's best friend there :> My friend allowed me
to cameo Demi in my story, so that is where they meet
and their story unfolds [though it is a side plot]...

ChaosVision Says:
The outlining is white is such a great contrast to bring things out ^^
Robber Baron Says:
I disagree with ChoasVision (which I totally read as ChaosVenison at first) when it comes to the white outlines. They really just look like a heck of a lot of overkill. In fact, it looks like you used a lot of tactics and shortcuts to hide the fact that it's a really shoddy coloring job. Which is usually OK, because I'm all for shortcuts, but here it just looks...well, it looks like you stuck a lot of sequins on a 3-dollar dress.
Behind all of that shoddy glam, I think the basic elements of the picture are strong. You have a style, and you stuck with it in the picture.
This makes me think of a pretty girl with way too much make up on, I guess. Basically, cut it out with the white outline thing, is what I'm trying to say.
As for contrast and bringing things out, Chaos, I should like to point out that if everything is brought out by contrast, nothing is brought out by contrast - if everyone wears lime green, it will just look like a sea of lime green and no one person will stick out.
This comment is riddled with figures of speech. Sorry 'bout that, amigo.

so cute! those characters are adorable!
sphinxface Says:
I think the "overkill" Robber is talking about is really a TM of yours, I enjoy. I suppose it is one of your shortcuts but with more practice in your weak areas it can really make the right pieces even better. (not sure if that really made sense I just woke up...)

Well my first thought on this pic before I read Robbers comment was that I love the dynamic tension you create between characters. I try to look at how exactly you execute it for trying to improve my own art that way, cause my art is normally very bland and not exciting at all.. But I can't seem to point out exactly how you seem to make characters seem alive even when they are just standing there... blah blah blah... I like it!!!1!1
