Heartless - Ch. 1 - P. 3 - School Can't Teach Everything
School can't teach everything...
- December 13th
Time has gone by. We had a maths test on Monday, but I wasn't in and had to do it on Tuesday and because there was a lot of confusion I only got half an hour to do it, and today we received the results. I got bad marks but that was mostly because I only finished half the test. I was forced to move down a class, I was in the top maths set. I had to move down, not because I did bad on the test, but because I haven't done any homework since the start of the year. So I was angry, because half of it wasn't my fault, and because now I wouldn't have as much as chance of talking to Amber anymore. So my only chance was french, but that was boring, and Ms. Thomas hates when anyone talks.
End of term was next week, which was the Christmas holidays, and we would have two weeks off. I didn't know what to do with that time, as I never did have plans for anything.
Winters in London were really cold, and it didn't even snow most of the time, so the atmosphere was really dull. No inspiration for anything. I would usually stay at home and listen to music or design something. I was good at drawing. I could spend hours drawing one picture and not get bored, I was a bit of a perfectionist, I payed attention to every bit of detail. Apart from that I would go out to the cinema here and there, not many movies that are memorable.
It was now Boxing Day. I didn't celebrate Christmas because I'm not a Christian. On Boxing Day however I saw the Tsunami crash into Thailand on the news. It was devastating. An hour after seeing it I left the house to see people asking for donations on every street corner. Of course I donated most of the money I had. So I couldn't do much for the rest of the week.
A month has passed since then and not much has happened. My new maths teacher was a complete idiot. He told us he was on YouTube, which he was, because someone recorded him being taught by a student. My English teacher was a total bitch too. One of those rude English people.
This year of school was starting to get boring. With the SATs coming up we had to spend most time revising. Which I was good at not-doing. Our SATs started in may. Then we would have to get ready for out GCSEs in the coming year.
Stupid school...
