Immortal Wars (Chapter 2)
Out of the bushes jumped another wolf like creature, but it stood on two feet instead of all four, and it's eyes weren't the same gray, they were a deep black. It growled deeply, although the other two couldn't discern what he said, it was like it was speaking a different language. A werewolf for sure.
“God d*** it.” James barked as the top of his lungs, “Why in gods name is there a werewolf!?” he asked, glaring at the female lycan.
The female lycan jumped to the side, narrowly dodging a strike from the werewolf. “This is no time for acquisitions.” she yelped back at him, jumping back from another attack.
”The hell it is!” he growled. He narrowed his eyes, and lunged at the werewolf head on, a mistake no lycan should make. The werewolf merely swatted him from the air slamming James to the ground. James grunted getting to his feet, watching the female lycan lunge at the werewolf's side, slamming it to the ground, tearing it to bloody chunks.
The female lycan turned to James, wiping her maw on the ground to get the blood off. She shook her head at James and made a wolf's impression of 'tsk tsk tsk', “Now you should know only to attack from the flanks.” she said to him.
”I know that!” he barked back at her “Why was that thing here anyway?” he asked of the female lycan.
”Why not get through introductions first?” she asked him, obviously trying to avoid the subject, “I'm Lillian, but you can call me Lilly.”
James scowled at Lilly “Name's James, but you can't distract me that easy.”
Lilly sighed “Yes yes... How about we revert to human form and talk like that?” she suggested, still hoping to stall a little.
James rolled his big eyes, “Answer me first...” he looked away, remembering in his outrage, his clothes were destroyed, “I have to stay a wolf anyways, responsibilities and all.”
She saw a shard of James' clothing on one of his claws and snickered a little, “Sure...” she said heavy with sarcasm. Shaking her head, she finally answered her question, “Yes it was following me, I heard another Lycan owned this area, and I was hoping for backup.”
James' hair bristled up and stood on end, “What the hell were you thinking?!” he howled at her, preparing for a lunge.
”Wait, wait, hear me out.” Lilly said frantically, “I heard in Europe, some Lycans starting forming packs, I was hoping that I might find some American Lycans for the idea.”
James' growl quieted, “Packs? That's insane.”
”Think about it, with forbidden ones popping up around the globe, what else can we do to protect our selves?”
”We...” James' voice trailed off, “I don't know.” he said honestly.
”See, we need to form packs, protect our kind.” she suggested.
James sighed in defeat, “I know of a few other Lycans, but none of us are in for the idea of the hierarchy of a pack.” he warned.
She merely sighed and turned on her heels, “Shall we meet here same time tomorrow?”
James nodded a 'yes' and ran off to his house, hoping no one was home. AS he rushed through the forest, the tree flying by at a blinding speed, he let his thoughts wander 'A pack, maybe it's a good idea, the forbidden aren't an easy fight, even with a pack...” he shook his head, not allowing the thought into his head.
As he came to the edge of his forest, where his house was luckily located he notice his mothers car wasn't in the drive way. He looked around, seeing as no one was around, he changed back and rushed into the back door, up the winding stairs and into his room. Glad he had new clothes on, he walked back out of his house, and peered down the road. Seeing his mother's car coming his way, he rushed into the forest, he couldn't afford to get grounded now.
James looked around, feeling an immediate danger in the area, he threw his clothes off and burst into the wolf. He turned to face the vampire from his school, Stephen, grinning at him. His hair bristled as he growled at him.
”Now-now James, I mean no harm, I just want to talk.” Stephen said in a calm voice, and made no offensive of defensive move against James.
”Vampires and Lycans have nothing to talk about.” he barked at him.
Stephen laughed sadistically “You know I can't under stand wolf, now please form back into a human so we can talk.” he suggested, still calm as ever, turning around.
James grunted and turned back into a human, shrugging on his clothes, “What do you want.” he said coldly, crinkling his nose, he hated the smell of vampires.
”Well I know you've felt it, there's a forbidden one around somewhere.” he said nonchalantly “And I've heard from other covens that there are more else where, I think someone is creating them, and well, frankly, I'm scared shit less.”
Laughing deeply James smiled “Aw, the big bad vampire all scared now?” he mocked, reviving a hiss from Stephen. His expression turned serious, “Yes, I'm aware of the increasing of the forbidden, why bring it up?”
”Because, I was thinking about a temporary truce.” he explained
”Are you crazy?!” James retorted, there was no way in hell he would work with a vampire.
”Your not taking this seriously, I know your a new mutt, but these forbidden, well there not to be takin' lightly!” Stephen, losing his composure, screamed at James who flinched away.
”My father was killed by one, who are you to be making assumptions!” James screamed back.
Stephen took a big breath, although it wasn't needed, and turned around and started away. “Okay, okay, fine, have it your way, but when you end up like your father,” he said over his shoulder to James coldly, “It won't be on my conscious, like it ever would though.” Stephen disappeared out of sight, James stood stricken by his remark.
He was unable to stay standing as his legs gave out, he fell to his knees. 'What does he know!' James mind screamed... He felt lifeless, as though some one rammed their fist into his chest and tore his heart out.
James woke up late the next morning, noon he presumed. He yawned as he threw his clothes on and took a glance at the time 'Two o-clock?!' he noticed. 'Shit, this was the time me and Lilly agreed on. He grabbed a rope and tied his pants to his leg. Jumping out of his window, he burst into a wolf mid-air. He ran fast as his leg would take him to the meeting spot.
”Took you long enough.” a girl giggled as James rushed into the clearing where he met Lilly. James nodded and walked off behind the bush and formed backing a human, put on his pants ans stepped back into view. Lilly giggled again, “This is much nicer.” she stated.
”Enough small talk, what did you want to talk about.” James spat out, still mad about the previous day.
”Yes, yes, we need to get right to business.” dais said the serious words, but in a tone the contradicted her statement. “About the packs, we really should get started, we have no idea when this 'thing' will come about.”
James nodded thinking it over, “Okay then, I'll call any others here, and we can discuss it.” he said, then let out a deep howl, that echoed for miles. “Now we wait.” he said.
They both sat there anxiously waiting for the other wolves. After about half an hour, four other wolves showed up. James and Lilly decided that this was enough so the stood up, “Sorry to take you away from your daily doings, but I think there are some important things that we need to discuss.” Lilly started.
”Its about forming a pack.” James finished. Mumbles went between the four others, “Just without the hierarchy,” James added, “I'm sure you've all felt the presence of a forbidden somewhere, we need to ban together, even a vampire came to me suggesting an alliance.”
”Heh, now how that, a vampire coming to the big bad wolf that will blow his house down for help.” Timmy joked shaking his head, “I'm all for the idea.” the others nodded there heads.
”So that's how it is, were a pack now.”
