Today is Mother's Day here in England, so I have written a song especially for my mum.
It was inspired by the Jon and Vangelis track "So long ago, so clear", as that was one of her favourite pieces of music, and was played at her funeral. I even included the title in my lyrics.

This song is dedicated to everyone that has lost someone close to them, but especially to my mum.

Happy Mother's Day!

p.s. A special "Thank you" to Rod for his advice on the final mastering of this song.

Go to sleep, leave this world behind
There's no need to delay
You've earned your place in the stars
And in our hearts and thoughts you'll stay

Forever, I'll remember, from so long ago, yet so clear
And a lifetime of recollections
Always will keep you near

Memories of a childhood when
The sun was shining still
And the love that you gave
Was always unconditional

Forever, I'll remember, from so long ago, yet so clear
And a lifetime of recollections
Always will keep you near
Keep you near
Keep you near

Awesome.
Its going on 2 years now sing my mom passed. This is a fantastic song. Fantastic people to be inspired by, too. :D
I have about 5 different versions of a "song" for my mom. She loved my ability to write sappy stuff, but.. She was also an old school "metal" fan. haha, Black Sabbath, Nazareth etc. My first concert was Nazareth. We saw Nazareth, Blue Oyster Cult and Uriah Heap. haha. I was 11 I think. Hence, the 5 different ideas. haha.

But yeah, hearing this and reading your words is like a kick in the arse, to get to work on mine. SO thank you. :D Loved it.

And could you gimme you voice for just one day?? It is awesome. You sing those high notes like it was as easy as eating cake.
And I'm sure you're Mom would be dancing with joy on hearing this. ^^ [Sorry for long comment]
