Over the next few days of school Dany, Maddy, and Adam started to really get along. There were a lot of common interests between them and that really excited Maddy and Dany. Well, firstly and more importantly they were making more friends. Secondly, it was with one of the Elites which meant they could get in on some awesome stuff! Dany wondered what it would be like to go to one of the parties she's heard so much about. Usually, only the older kids got to go because of graduation. One of the Elites let the school use their ballroom, every house has one, for the prom and graduation ceremonies. If you were lucky and knew people, you could go to all the parties that the family holds. And there are a lot, too many to count on two hands in one month!

On Wednesday afternoon, Maddy came over to do some “homework” when in reality she just wanted the scoop on Dany's fake love life. They spent the better part of the afternoon screwing around with one of Dany's most hated “lovers.”

Maddy spoke and flicked some of her wavy and out-of-control dark brown hair out of her eyes, “What is his problem! He doesn't even listen to what either of us say...how could be-” she paused to bat her eyes at Dany- “Maaaadly in looooove?” She had read the logs of T0xicG4mer confessing his eternal love for LilMissSunshine, AKA Dany. Although Dany had her theories, they could never be proven with the likes of this guy. She suspected he was about 14years old, that's three years younger than her, and in love with the fact that Dany plays video games.

T0xicG4mer: So, Where do u live again? I know u told me before...
LilMissSunshine: I can't tell you, my parent's would go bananas!
T0xicG4mer: Oh, I see. No prob. Distance doesn't matter to me...but, when am I going to see a picture of u?
LilMissSunshine: I can't give out my picture. I don't want you to see my face >///<
T0xicG4mer: I bet u are pretty! C'mon, just let me see it pls? :<
LilMissSunshine: Maybe next time, I don't have a very current picture.
T0xicG4mer: What ever u say. I hope that I see it soon. Did u hear about the newest news? How they r going to try and up the prices?
LilMissSunshine: yea, I heard something like that.
LilMissSunshine: Sorry, I g2g now! I'll see you later okay?
T0xicG4mer: Oh, ok. Bye.
LilMissSunshine has signed off.

By the time Dany and Maddy had finished laughing, it had been at least five minutes. Dany flopped on her bed as did Maddy. “Man, I can't believe they'll believe anything I say! It's so creepy...” Dany said with a chuckle and tried to push Maddy off her tired stomach.

Maddy obliged and rolled of, laying on her back and staring up at Dany's ceiling which had a bunch of those glow in the dark stickers, “Yea...You could probably use that to your advantage you know...” Maddy peered at her at the corner of her eyes.

A laugh came from Dany and she said, “Oh yeah, they'll be of so much use to me Maddy! What the hell am I going to use him for? I just met him on a gaming website! I thought all that he'd want to do is talk about video games or play some MMO's but apparently loving me electronically is more important.” They both erupted in laughs until they heard a knocking on Dany's door. It couldn't have been her dad, her dad would have busted in and told them to shut up...then ask them if they wanted any snacks. Dany tugged on her shirt and carefully opened her door, peeking through the slit. There stood Adam, he looked uncomfortable.
Dany straightened her hair out and pulled open the door, “So you made it! And in one piece. I'm surprised. Good job.” She pulled him by the arm and closed her door. Maddy then grabbed him and tugged him on the bed. “So, we can officially start studying now?” Dany tilted her head and raised her eyebrows.

Adam just nodded. He was very shy today...usually he was quite outgoing, but maybe he was intimidated by them two girls, one boy, and four walls. Dany smiled and said, “What? Cat got your tongue? Not even going to say hello?”

Adam chuckled and a blush of embarrassment flashed across his cheeks, “Sorry ladies, I wasn't expecting you both being here and laughing your butts off. What was so funny anyway?” He laid his folder on the floor and kicked his shoes off. That was one of the rules of Dany's room, no shoes.

Maddy butted in, “Oh we're just marveling at Dany's newest boyfriend.” She then had to duck for fear of being hit with a stuffed animal.

“I do not have a boyfriend! Those psycho's surely aren't boyfriends...” She picked up the stuffed animal and put it where it belonged. She then moved to her computer, closed the windows, and put on some music. “Let's get down to business, shall we?” She clapped and rubbed her hands together and searched for her backpack.

A few hours later, Maddy was being called to dinner and that left Adam and Dany alone. Dany didn't mind too much, thinking nothing of it, but there was a nervous air about Adam. He seemed shy again as if he was holding something back.

Dany tried to ignore it, thinking it was nerves, but couldn't help but ask him, “Hey, what's up? You seem a little off. You okay?” She put down her pencil and pushed her books aside so she was giving him her full attention.

Adam shook his head and kept scribbling notes, “I'm okay. Why?” she could see it was hard for him to look up and look at her in the eye.

“Well, you're not looking at me. Did I do something wrong?”

“No, of course not. Why would you think that?”

“Well, you're not looking at me.” Dany's gaze was slightly more intense than she had intended and watched his cheeks blush again. Was this a tell-tale sign that maybe Dany had someone who had a crush on her, in RL?

He gulped and shook his head, realizing she saw his slip up, “Oh, Uh. I'm just a little distracted today. My parents got into a fight, kind of startled me today...that and...well we're in a room together. It's a little quiet...” he cleared his throat and looked to her.

Dany smiled and said, “Oh, I see. You have parent problems too?” she giggled and got up from the floor to turn up the speakers a little, blasting some random wordless songs. She then leaned against her desk and asked, “Need to talk about it? I'm a pretty good listener if I do say so myself...” she chuckled and was relieved to hear him chuckle with her. The ice was breaking and that was pretty nice.

Adam started out hesitantly letting Dany in on his family life, something she could hear in his voice wasn't very easy to do and by the time he had reached as far as he wanted to go, a relief spread across his face. He shook his head and rubbed his thumb against the pencil he held, “So, yea. That's all that there is...right now...” he looked up to her and saw a sympathetic look on her face, “...Don't look at me like that. I didn't want sympathy...”

Suddenly Dany leaned forward and squeezed him tightly in a hug, “Oh my gosh! That's terrible! I'm so sorry. I know you didn't want to hear any of this but, as your friend, I just have to say it! You can come over whenever you want! We even have a spare room, it used to be my brothers but he doesn't come home anymore.” she pulled back and placed both her hands on his shoulders, “Will you be alright for tonight?” she didn't realize how close she was until this moment, but there shouldn't have been a reason to be embarrassed right? She got this close to Maddy all the time.

Adam chuckled and let his hands fall from her back, “Yea, I'll be fine tonight. Speaking of which, I should probably go now.” They both shifted and he picked his stuff up.

Dany asked, “Are you clear...I mean going back to the homework, are you clear on what's going on now? I feel like I didn't help at all...” she trailed off and happened to notice how many notes he had in comparison to hers.

“Yea, It's much clearer...thank you Dany.” he smiled and slipped his shoes on once they got outside of her room. Dany waited with him while he waited for a ride, shared some idle chit-chat, and gave him another big hug. “Just call me if you need anything. I'm usually up anyway...” He gave her a nod and got into the car and sped off.

Dany decided she was hungry and walked back into the house. She met with her dad half way and explained to him her new friend. He was happy that she was finally branching out and getting new friends.

“Glad to hear it Danielle. He sounds like a good boy, it's a shame his parents can't make things work right now.” he sighed and shook his head, sipping the iced tea in his hand.

“Yea, oh well. He'll get through it.” she smiled and patted her dad on the shoulder and finally made it into the kitchen where she grabbed but a bag of chips and headed back into her room. Something felt weird, her whole room was almost foreign. She decided it was best to call up Maddy, she'd know what to say. She always did.
