Hey guys!!!!! A long time for an update, and again something you'd never expect. heheh!
My first attempt at a photoshop only realistic painting, 6 hours with reference. I used the same new semi secret painting style I've been using lately, and applied it to this picture.
It takes a WHOLE lot of inspiration for me to want to draw a picture of someone, nevertheless go all out on a full color picture...needless to say a childhood friend named Kevin
happened to be a victim of my artistic eye! :)
Usually when I draw so much friggin cartoons, I have a rare urge to stray and do a realistic picture......but I find it too easy to draw a portrait cause it turns out to look so much like the person that you almost can't tell the difference. My teachers used to even question me all the time......stupid asses lol!
I hadn't done one in 4 years, besides emulating real life limits much creativity. But I am glad I found the inspiration to challenge myself to this degree again, so thanks Kevin!!!
I hope you enjoy this as much as Kevin did!! Seeing his reaction made me smile, that's all I needed. :)

I love the skin texture- it reminds me of traditional realistic watercoloring or watered own acrylic painting. It's a very sensative piece with unusual lighting- is that filtered light from the blinds of a window streaming in? or some other type of lighting?
