Just a sort of "full circle" sketch of Maisy face-to-face with her spiritual predecessor in my sketchbooks, Brigid, the steampunk cyborg from my many-times-killed-but-still-not-dead fantasy comic Etherwinds. While there are NUMEROUS differences between the two characters, both share a very gung-ho attitude, as well as a naivete' coupled with a sense of world-weariness that comes from being "born" someone else's property and then finally freed into the bigger world. They also share a similar petite build, a direct response (especially and purposefully in Brigid's case) to the cannonball-chested females that fill most comics (I'm going to have to do another picture of them meeting Frank Thorne's lesser known she-warrior, Ribit, who he, as creator of the best-known version of Red Sonia, created to rebel against the very same standard he helped popularize).
Not a very good pic of Maisy, downright awful really, but I was proud of how Brigid turned out, especially since I hadn't drawn her in so long. As if I needed further proof that my 100-year-old little girl wasn't done with me, yet...LOL

Oh I love the content and the idea behind the picture...new meets old. Really cool concept and I love Brigid's design. So cute, like Maisy.

Neat Idea...Cool!

Very cool concept. The posing is really good, I think; interaction is always hard to do. Maisy seems slightly higher and more forward in standing position than Brigid, but that's my only crit.

Brigid is extremely sexy. Just had to say that.
