The Story of Amanda and Nanous

The sun was shining brightly. The sky was clear and blue. The wind was nice and cool. Nothing like a nice walk for Amanda Bleed, a cat desperate to have a good life to raise her little one. Yes, she was pregnant, with only a week or so left before she delivered. She was anxious, but upset. How could this be? Well, the father had abandoned her just so recently without any shelter or anything to help her with the baby.

So, for the day, she wanted to take a walk in the park. It was a beautiful day, and she needed the fresh air. Of course, like all single mothers, they want a man who will help them care for the child. But...what kind of man would help a teenage pregnant mother who was abandoned by her ex-boyfriend? She believed she would find one...but when? She started to cry thinking about these thoughts, and sat down and attempted to dry her tears.

She heard something. She didn't pay attention to it. But, a shadow was slithering up to her, coming to take her away, so it seemed. But, the shadow covered her, with a figure sitting next to her. He looked at her; she looked at him. Amanda stopped her crying, as the man was comforting her and drying her tears. Calmly, she asked, "Why would you help someone like me?"
The man looked into her eyes and smiled. Then, he replied with his British accent, "You and I are alike, you know. We both are parents. Why on earth would you cry? Isn't having a child supposed to be the best thing to happen to anyone?"
Amanda cried more. "You don't get it," she started to explain, "I was abandoned by the father of this child about 5 days ago. I haven't gotten over it. He didn't give me shit to help with the child and...and..."
"And what?"
She looked at him. "I don't know. The baby is coming in about a week or so. I'm just really scared...I want someone who will actually care for me, no matter who I am."
The man looked at her, and at that moment, he felt extremely sorry for her. "Well," he said, "if you ever want to live with me and my adopted son, Surf, we will be more than willing to welcome you to our home."
Amanda smiled. "Come on, sir, you don't have to be so nice to...to me: a whore, a pregnant teenager, single..."
"So? It doesn't matter. You need help, and I will be there. By the way, my name is Nanous Riokun, and I'm 16 meself. And yours, love?"
Amanda giggled at the word "love". "Well, my name is Amanda Bleed, and I'm 15. It's nice to meet you, Nanous."

After about a few more hours, Nanous and Amanda walked through the rest of the park together, holding hands. They were in love. They just didn't know it yet. So, they continued on with the conversation.

"So, what are you gonna name the child?" Nanous asked.
Amanda explained, "Well, I really don't know, but I think I may stick with the name me and my ex came up with...Valor."
"Valor, eh? Hmmm...that's a nice name." He smiled. "Besides, you are too sweet and beautiful to get mixed up in this."
Amanda blushed cherry red. "That is nice of you to say that, Nanous. I...I...I don't know what to say."
He stopped walking, turned to her, looked into her eyes, and whispered, "I want you to be my girlfriend. We both have children to take care of, and it can be hard as single parents. My son, Surf, for example, his parents died a while back. They took care of me when MY parents died. So, in return, I took Surf in as my son, I couldn't be happier."
Amanda looked at him and suddenly wrapped her arms around him. "Nanous...I don't know what to say. But, I guess I can say that I will be your girlfriend."
He looked at her and deeper into her eyes. "You are a wonderful girl. I can't wait for you to meet Surf. And I can't wait to meet Valor next week."
"Yeah..." she silently said. The sun was setting on the wonderful day. As they exited the park, the two new lovers were hand-in-hand. The sight of the sunset was the most amazing thing that Nanous and Amanda have ever laid their eyes upon before. Nanous took her into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck. They looked into each other's eyes, and slowly...went for the kiss that made them fall deeply in love.
