Clovily is known for it's pacifier it sucks on until it evolves.
As an infant poke'mon, it is still very attached to it's egg, and instead of hatching from it, it grew to adjust to the egg itself!
The longer the shall stays on it's body, and it does not evolve, the more dense and tough the shell becomes until Clovily feels comfortable giving away its binky to a newborn Clovily.
The clover on its head is said to be absorbing sunlight to help Clovily prepare for its evolution from a Normal Egg poke'mon into a Grass Type poke'mon. Since the leaf acts as a stationary nutrient absorber, and Clovily cannot access its Grass-type qualities, it can only use Normal Type moves until it evolves.

My inspiration for Clovily came from St. Patrick's Day. I've been seeing clovers everywhere, so I wanted to make a poke'mon that could incorporate the clover theme, as well as having an Irish flair to it, utilizing the colors of the irish flag.
It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but I'm crossing my fingers that the next two stages are wonderful!
Expect those before St. Patrick's Day!
