If Hughes Lived...
All Hughes could here was the sirens of the ambulance. Did he really live through that? Lust had just stabbed him an hour ago and Envy just shot at him. He was slowly losing concusses. He was losing to much blood as well.
Roy was on the other line when this all was happening to Hughes. He called 9-1-1 as soon he knew something was wrong. Roy was scared. Riza tried to comfort him but he wouldn’t let her. He wanted Hughes to live….NO he NEEDED Hughes to live.
Roy rushed over to the hospital. He waited for four hours for Hughes to come out on the E.R.
When the Dr. came out he said, “Coronal Mustang….right? Well Hughes made it through the operation alright. He will be out of the field for awhile thou.”
Roy felt a great weight lift from his chest. “Can I see him?” Roy asked worriedly.
“You may.” The Dr. responded and then lead him to the room Hughes was in, resting. Roy heard the steady breathing coming from Hughes. He felt like crying.
Hughes felt the present of Roy watching over him. He felt calmer. “R-Roy….” He tried calling out.
Roy took Hughes’s hand in his and said, “I am here….rest Hughes…you n-need too.” Roy was about to cry and he didn’t want Hughes to see it. Not if he could help it.
“Ohhhh, OK Roy….will you be here when I wake up?” Hughes asked Roy.
“I am always here Hughes. I thought you knew that.” Roy smiled gently.
Hughes then fell back to a deep slumber and Roy watched over him.
That night Roy dreamt that Hughes had died. When he woke up, the sun was shining in his face. It felt nice and hot. Hughes was still in a deep sleep. Roy got up and bent over Hughes and kisses him in the lips. Hughes felt someone over him and woke up to fine Roy kissing him. Hughes kissed him back.
Roy pulled back first. “I-I’m sorry Hughes…I didn’t mean to.”
Hughes smiled the smile he knew Roy liked most. “Roy I think I am in love with you….”
Roy turned bright red. Roy nodded his head and said, “Hughes…I love you too…” Then the two lovers kissed again.
Roy was able to tell Hughes how he felt and Hughes was able to return the feelings. Because of Roy, Hughes was able to live and watch Elica grow up, while with the lover of his dreams.
