NOTE!!! THIS IS A WORK-IN-PROGRESS! (WIP)
This means I'm still working on it. In the early stages of portrait drawing (sometimes called the "ugly stage"), there are often a lot of mistakes which will get corrected as the drawing progresses.
I completely redrew the face except for the eyes. Now it looks more like Nino, I think. It's not really all that noticeable for people who are not Arashi fans, but I think the subtle change makes the resemblance more striking. The eyebrows were lowered slightly and the nose and mouth were tilted a bit. The shape of the face and shading were also adjusted.
The plush heart is pretty much done and most of the right arm (the one holding the heart). The combination of stripes, folds and texture makes the shading of the sweater particularly difficult. I also had some trouble with the hand. It's such an unusual position, so the shadows are tricky to shade.
Coming up next: hopefully the finish of the portrait! Not much left except for the other sleeve, bottom of the sweater and jeans.
