Squee!

Sorry, Needed to get that out of my system. Now, the art-y stuffs:
To start, it looks a lot better on paper (whiter whites, more defined shadows and such... plus a lot less blurry), but...
Well, after 4 weeks of working on it on and off in art class with a few hours put in at home... He's finally done. No more Will Smith-related freakouts.
Um... well, it's all done in pencil, it's all my own work... except for a few very minor adjustments (mainly as demonstration) and a lot of guidance from my amazing art teacher. This wouldn't be half as good if it weren't for him... in fact, this wouldn't even exist if it weren't for him.
His new favorite passtime is showing it off...

And I swear, if he calls it "not average 8th grade work" again, I am going to punch something. XP
Not that I don't love him, because he's awesome. I just... I'm not a big fan of attention.
Anyways, you guys don't want to hear me ramble. This is the reference I used: http://www.freeryantoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/will-smith-thumb.jpg
Only the actual image I printed out and used has been taken off the internet (but it's this exact same one, just on another site).... and it was a LOT smaller. For those of you that care, I used a gridding method and took it from a 1/2 inch grid to a 1 1/2 inch grid... AKA three times the size.
It worked out nicely, though. It was just annoying when the super-thick sharpie lines went through something important or a stray dot make it look like there was shadow where there wasn't.
Oh, and the background is inspired by pictures of Sydney, Australlia. Not any one in particular, and I know I left out a lot of detail. I didn't want to take away from Will. I spent four weeks on him, and he deserves the attention.
