100 issues.
It's been a hell of a ride.
Since I've been doing The Scrambled Channel, I've had bad issues, and really bad issues. I've had compliments and insults; story arcs and random gags. I've had discussions with fans, and arguments with morons on sheezyart. I've had fanart, fancomics, new friends, and new enemies. I've had spin-offs, I've had throwbacks, I've had bursts of creativity, and long periods of downtime. I've had redesigns, crossovers, running gags, and bad typos.
But more than anything else, since I've been doing The Scrambled Channel, I've had the time of my life. I wish I could give 100 bucks to everybody who ever complimented the comic, or faved an issue on Sheezyart, or drew me fanart. Unfortunately, all I can offer is my sincerest thanks; you guys are the reason I kept going. Without you guys, there would be no Scrambled.
As time went on, the breakout star was universally, unequivocally, Stick. I grew to hate his popularity; an inanimate object being the most popular character seemed to express only my inability to properly characterize the rest of the cast. For the longest time, the plan was to eventually kill off Stick, when I grew tired of doing the comic, as a sort of slap in the face to all the readers who liked him so much.
But I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and I realized that, even when I do get tired of The Scrambled Channel (which I'm sure will happen eventually), I could never kill off Stick. Because he represents too much. Love him or hate him, Stick is The Scrambled Channel. Without him, I never would have come this far. It annoys me to no end when readers comment on whatever ridiculous situation I've put Stick in rather than the actual punchline, and there are few things as frustrating as finishing an issue only to have to re-edit the entire thing because I forgot to include Stick. But in spite of all that, and in spite of how much his popularity still irks me, one thing is for certain:
Stick isn't going anywhere.
I can't promise The Scrambled Channel will last another 100 issues, or even if it will last another 10. But know this: I'm going to keep making The Scrambled Channel as long as I keep having fun doing it. And I'm going to keep having fun doing it as long as there's at least one person who thinks I'm funny. That's all it will take to make the whole experience worth it to me.
Thanks for the ride.

Now you've gone and made me feel bad, since I do kinda like Stick. Not my favorite character, granted, but still.
