-THIS MANGA IS READ LIKE A TRADITIONAL MANGA, FROM RIGHT TO LEFT-

I gave a brief explanation of the incantation of a spell last time, so this time I'll get more in depth.

Quick reminder:

First word - element
Second word - plane
Third word - power
Fourth word - what the spell does

Now, don't get the third word wrong. In reality, the second word defines power. The third word more accurately defines control. It deals with the concepts of chaos and order.

Let's say you use a spell from the lowest plane. This makes it a weak spell. However, let's also say you put the most amount of chaos into it. This makes for a quick-drawn spell that will just explode. It will carry a lot more destructive force overall, but it will not be capable of specifically targeting something. You sacrifice that control to give it more power.

Now let's go with the highest plane, but with total control. If you did it without control, it would explode like before, but with a LOT more power. Now, though, you're aiming for something specific. You're trying to do something specific. You can't let magic run loose when doing that.

Healing spells require complete control of the spell. Explosion spells do not. Trying to do an uncontrolled healing spell could help your enemies. Trying to control an explosion spell could cause it to backfire. This is just one idea, but I trust it makes sense.

If you look at the spell above, it's basically a tidal wave. The only control Skye needs is to ensure it goes one way. This means he's sacrificed most of his control to make it more powerful, but retains just enough to send it the direction he wants.
