TLOZ: RTT: Chapter 1: Down the Hole again...
"Here's the enterance to Goron City." Link said to himself. He started looking at his surroundings, trying to find the marking he made when searching for Navi. With only two other tunnels to pick from, finding the one with a few different markings on it shouldn't be too hard...Right?
"Hoo hoo! Hello again, Link! I did not expect to see you again in this part of the woods for some time!" Link's face turned to disgust; there's only one person...or in this case, animal, who had such a bothersome voice and said "Hoo, hoo" before speaking. He looked up and saw Kaepora Gaebora staring at him. He looked different to Link, then realized the damn owl had his head upside-down. "Looking for Saria, I assume? You won't want to go through this tunnel, Link. This will take you to-" The owl couldn't finish talking to Link, because when the owl mentioned the "wrong" tunnel, Link took advantage and ran like hell through the tunnel Kaepora Gaebora said not to go through. The owl, stunned, looked straight at the tunnel, and decided to finish his sentence. "...another world called Termina." The owl sighed and flew after Link. There was one more very important thing Link did not give the owl a chance to tell him.
"Wow," Link said out loud to himself, "this tunnel seems longer than the other ones." He continued walking, for hours it seemed. Link finally got fed up with walking, and pulled out one of the three special masks he brought with him. The mask was round, and had a small smile on it. Link looked at the smiling face on the mask, and smiled back at it. "Okay, Darmani. Let's see how long this tunnel really goes." If anyone else was with Link, they'd think he was crazy for talking to a mask, except for the Happy Mask Salesman of course. Link gently turned the mask around, and slowly brought the mask to his face. When the mask came in contact with Link's face, the mask took form over Link's head, then started to form over the rest of Link's body. Link couldn't help but scream, although he's been through this process before.
His whole body seemed heavier. His arms were bigger, he was taller, stronger, and more chubby. Link had successfully fused, once again, with the soul of the Goron Hero, Darmani, which had been placed within the mask. "The transformation! It still works, even if I'm in Hyrule!" Link thought to himself. He was so happy, he couldn't hold his energy in. He quickly crouched down and formed a ball-shape. Darmani-Link started rolling forward at top speed. Link couldn't keep track of how long he had been rolling; it must have been at the very least another hour. The tunnel finally ended, and Goron-Link stood up straight, and put one hand to his face and began to slowly pull the mask off. He could feel the strength (and fat) of the Goron Hero flowing away from him, the soul returning to the Mask, waiting for its next use.
Link slowly walked forward, staring at the trees, the sky, the ground...everything. One thing that quickly caught Link's eye was a mark of a shield with a Hylain symbol on it imprinted into the ground. "This is where I fell off of Epona...I can't believe there's still an imprint!" Link thought to himself. He continued walking forward, and noticed a ray of sunlight passing through the trees, onto a stump. Link walked over to the stump, and saw a drawing. It was Link with the Skull Kid, and the two faries, Tatl and Tael. Link smiled and went through the tunnel he had previously ran through, chasing a Horse-napping Skull Kid. He jumped past the obstacles with ease, throwing little tricks out while passing to the other side. At the end of one final little stretch, he came to a cliff. He looked down, and saw a swirl of dark blue and dark green. "I definately went the right way. If I remember right...there's a Deku Flower at the bottom of this."
Link slowly pulled out an orange, sad-eyed face, with a hole in the middle of it, and three leaves on a stem on top. "The Mask of the Deku." Link said out loud, and slowly put the Mask up to his face. Link felt, once again, his arms and legs shrink, his whole body turning to wood, and losing almost all his weight. The transformation, again, was a success. Deku-Link looked over the edge, looked back forward, took a deep breath, and jumped. Just like last time, Link had fallen onto a Deku Flower, on the edge of a small puddle. Deku Link looked ahead of him, and saw another tunnel. He knew exactly where it went, and he wanted to go forward, but he couldn't. He had to get back to Hyrule, and show everyone the mysterious, parallel-to-Hyrule world, Termina. Deku Link quickly burrowed into the flower, and, just like last time, shot out of the flower, back up to where Link had jumped off. Link took the mask off, and started running forward.
Before he got to the tunnel, he saw a giant owl flying twoards him. Link had no choice but to stop and let the damned owl talk. Kaepora Gaebora landed on a stump next to Link. "Hoo, hoo! I am happy that I finally caught up with you, Link! The world of Termina is--" Link cut him off. "Yeah, yeah, a 'dangerous and mysterious' world. That's why I've been there before and saved that world from destruction by an insane moon." The owl was speechless. He glared into Link's eyes and made what sounded like a threat. "Don't go back to that land, Link. If you do, both worlds may be in serious trouble."
