SoulSong Ch.1 SoulSingers Pt.1

SOULSONG I
CH.1 SoulSingers
Pt.1

Few understand the true nature of worlds. A world is not a planet, though a world can essentially consist of one planet or system. The term world is synonymous with universe. One can travel as far as possible in one’s own world and never pass the edge. It takes a special type of person to learn how to bridge the gap between worlds.
Landing! He looks up at the sky. Blue with white clouds. Typical. But cheerier than brown, grey, or black. A beach is spread out before him. No one in sight. He sighs and begins to walk down the beach. If he’s going to find out if this is really where he needs to be or not, he’ll need to find someone to talk to.
Deep beneath the ocean lives a thriving community. This world of Deep Blue has been their home for years now. Ever since the last Exodus. And the youngest cannot imagine ever leaving it.
A mother and her son prepare to leave the bounds of the city. Recent events have inspired a wave of unease in all of them. The age old foe has reached their home once more. So, naturally, safety cannot be assured out in the open ocean.
“Kelira, we only fear for your safety. And that of young Taian. We know he’s all you have left of Caymin.”
“Which is why you can rest assured that I will die before letting anything happen to him.”
“We only hope it doesn’t come to that.”
“When someone learns how to make the fish come to us, we won’t ever have to leave again. But, no one’s done that yet. And I won’t ask you to take risks for me.”
“…Stubborn as always. We wish you safety.”

yeah. Kinda an intro thing for my biggest written story thus far. A weird Sci-Fi/fantasy kinda thing (at once, even). It's short. I was a dope about chapter lengths when I first started writing this, so the first ones are like.....REEALLLYYY short. It's icky, even. *shrugs* I'll probably crunch it up a bit to make it sane to read. Feel free to say whatever as long as it's relevant to some degree (fairly lax on that rule ;p)

Next Chapter: ----
