Something I made in Sculpture class last spring. I've always been more interested in blacksmithing than sculpture, so I tried to combine the two into some kind of armor-body-art type of thing.
With the exception of the plate, it's all steel rod that I bent around my arm (welding took place away from my arm, of course), so it fits quite well and won't come off regardless of whether or not I'm gripping the "handle." I bent the plate with a bowl, hammer and heating tip. I used a mixture of acetylene/oxygen torch and MIG welding.
Now that I've actually taken Blacksmithing classes and aren't just pulling techniques out of my ass I might revisit this- maybe plate it some more; extend it to my shoulder; whatever. Suggestions?

That's what I usually do with drawings, anyways--print a copy of a sketch and have fun with it from there--so I thought it may apply to this, too.
