"...why am I so cold...?"

It's going to be okay, Mythril. I'm going to make sure that you are safe. Loved.

Mythi looked in wonder at the little girl before her eyes; she looked familiar, but her appearance was just shy of clicking in her memory. She wished she knew. The girl looked so sad. So lost.

"What do you mean?"

You won't have to impose on Deco anymore. It's going to all be okay. I promise.

"But--"

Just trust me.

When Mythi opened her eyes and bolted straight up in the bed, the first thing she saw was Nemo. The girl felt the worry (or as close to worry as a vampire could reach) emanating from his mind-- the emotion made her bizarrely sick. The dry taste in her mouth permeated most of her conscious thought and her heart lurched at the scent of something tangy and metallic in a cup on the bed stand beside her. Her eyes locked on to it as her mind scrambled for an answer.

But one thing, one odd observation, rose above all else. Mythi turned her gaze to Nemo and held up a pale, trembling hand.

"...why am I so cold...?"

The man bent low as if to hide his tall stature and caught her fingers, holding them tight to his chest. This child-- She was so innocent, so pure, even now.

"You stopped breathing. I... I had to..."

Silence.

"...I'm sorry, Mythi..."
