My character, Silah Vance. Someone called her Avi, once. But he left her when she woke up on the operating table and he saw black-licking flames that coursed down her left side.
"Disgusting," he had said. "Like a demon from hell."
He wasn't too far from the truth, to be honest. Spite wound her way into the woman's heart, twining tighter and tighter, holding steadily. Ready and waiting for the moment Silah would snap and she could pounce.
Oh, what luck when Remi appeared! If Spite had a heart it would absolutely burst with happiness. For it was Remilian la Creux's fault that Silah was like this. It was her fault that her life had fallen to pieces.
And Spite would make sure she remembered it.
