I have 2 1024x768 monitors, and this wallpaper was made to stretch across the both of them.

This was originally the beginning of a profile layout for myself on Gaia Online. I wanted to make a horizontal scrolling profile. Then I kept adding more stuff until finally I just basically... Made this hugeass thing. xD

STORY BEHIND THIS ART
I've been listening to Apocalyptica - Bittersweet
[link] for way too long. So that inspired this, sort of.
Q is my OC/Gaia avatar, and Overslept is a friend's character/avatar. But this is sort of a double entendre.
Character-wise, Q/Quatre Bornes is kind of lost and can't really find his way. Overslept/Apollyon is a sort of Ghost/demon thing from Hell that comes up and teaches him things to get Q on his merry way, so on and so forth with a tl;dr description until Q basically becomes a soldier for Hell's army of hellhounds.
Personally, Q personifies me and Overslept my friend, who's been helping me deal with some really shitty personally issues lately. But in this way, Overslept is still a ghost as he's not really there; just a disembodied voice who helps me with shit since we've never met irl.
I used the Wings of Water brush for the reason that Overslept/Apollyon is both an angel of death and a savior, but the wings are vague enough in shape that they can easily be misconstrued as something else.
There's a lot of grunge seperating the two characters. Q has lots of stuff behind him, while Over has a lot in front. The plants kind of aided in this whole thing, except for me it's more of a personification of fate and destiny, mother nature, the things that happen that we really can't control.
Throughout all this, though, I went through and really tried to bring their green eyes out. Eyes for me are the windows to the soul. In the original pictures, Over did not have colored eyes and you could not tell what color eyes Q had as they were too dark. In this I tried to make them both very vibrant green without overdoing it.
