Hello,
I've started work on this composition about 2 years ago. It was simply called, petit duet for Piano and Oboe by then. I had finished the first section with the repeat, but couldn't find a suitable contrasting section. Up till yesterday that is. So yesterday and today I wrote like a madmen, and finished the piece. When I showed it to a friend of mine, she said it was the ideal music to the BBC's Merlin Series. She's a fan of the series *and showed me a rather shippably nice eps. as well* and she pointed out that esp. the beginning had a melancholic dreamy state. So I decided to call the piece The dream of Merlin. It's an A-B-A structure work, it starts in d minor and has 2 themes which get repeated, after that the work modulates via F major to f minor and get's a turbulent doppio moviemento *twice as fast* contrasting section, rather nightmarish, Then suddenly the A section comes back again in d-minor but the piece itselves ends tranquilly in F major.
Enjoy

Finale 2005, is that the software you've used?
This sounds really good. I can imagine this as a background music for Heroes
(No not the TV show. I mean Heroes of Might and Magic xD)
I guess that's because there are so many different parts of the dream :)
It confuses me because sometimes it sounds sad and sometimes it's happy
After hearing this I actually feel like I'm in King Arthur's court.

A wonderous composition that really shows the amount of time you took in both the development and the style presented through this entire score. Impressive notations and a very spirited preformance.
Excellent work fantastic preformance and a stirring score add to one epic win.

As an oboist, I saw this and had to comment!
You take advantage of the instrument's lyrical capabilities very well, I enjoyed listening to it. Oboes can't play low A, so if you ever have this performed live you'll have to rewrite that and perhaps the Bb's, but other than that you stay right in the range. Lovely!

I think the hard work has definitely paid off, and I would like to hear more compositions like this one because it's absolutely brilliant. It's enjoyable, not difficult, easy for the mind to understand that is. Very fairytale, medieval ish, game like also.
