Sound of the ancient drum - Chapter 04.

The view was quiet, restrained silent. All animal shivering hid in their own burrow and hole because they felt the approaching danger. The dawn shined on the trees with blood-red color beneath them soft rustles and armors clinking surrounded as the nagas moved through the forest. On the other side there was a big field. Here they waited for the enemy.

In the distance wolf howl surrounded and feet’s stamp. The Thalan clan arrived on the other side of the field. As they noticed each other both side started hissing and snarling, baring their huge fangs.

Ehona made a step forward “Nagas! I the head of the Thalan clan order to leave our territory or we chase you away with force!”

The snakes laughed “Fool! We won’t retreat from a vermin like you!” spat his words Nacon.

“However we never give you our land!” for their chief’s words the wolves shouted in agreement.

“Then Die!” roared Nacon whereof the nagas yelled and charged.

“Archers be prepared!” ordered Ehona. Tigers stepped forward and stretched their bows. They waited while the serpents moved closer “Fire!” more than a hundred arrows whizzed through the air and stroke the first nagas. But the others still moved unshaken.

“Fire again!” shouted Ehona.

“The shields! Up the shields!” sounded general Serpentinus. The snakes pushed their bracelets by that purple light appeared and like a shield covered their arm, protecting them from the arrows.

“Attack!” yelled Nacon. Now the tigers also charged, at least with a great crack met with the enemy. The battle had begun.

For a while the battle equalizing happened. The wolves with their fast movements dodged the heavy nagas and killed them with their spears. But because of the armor it was hard to hit the serpents’ weak points, against it they could toss easily away vulnerable tigers.

Everywhere weapons’ clanking and painful or angry shouts surrounded. Typhoon already sent the fourth naga in death when he heard whining nearby. He turned and realized Ehona as he fought with a bigger snake and he was in danger. Quickly ran there and with a nice hit he stabbed through the serpent’s throat.

“Thank you Typhoon” panted Ehona chieftain.

“Are you okay chief?” asked the tiger.

“Sure, he just slashed my arm a bit.”

“This is not good!” another tiger moved back next to them “They to strong, we can’t take them! What should we do chieftain?”

“It seems there’s no other solution” answered Ehona then howled to call back his mates. The wolves hurry moved back, with their spears tried to hold back the serpents.

“What is your plan chief?” asked one of them.

“We have no other choice. We need to use that power if we want to win.”

“But Ehona, that ability is very dangerous! If it won’t succeed then we’ll be unprotected!” objected Typhoon.

“We need to try! Our tribe's existence the stake!” for his words the others nodded then lined up before their chieftain, folding their hands like praying.

“What these fools are planning for?” hissed Serpentinus.

“I have a bad feeling about this” said Centeotl.

“Hah, it must be a pitiful trying” snarled Nacon.

“Attack now?”

“No. Let’s see what they can.”

The wolves didn’t care about the nagas hesitating, strongly concentrated. They started drumming with their feet and tail for an unknown rhythm while they murmured loudly.

„Ens-ther tebaa, hiuren ti moven! Ens-ther tebaa, hiuren ti moven! Ens-ther tebaa, hiuren ti moven!” even louder and louder. Around their body flame-red aura appeared and whirled.

“With last power we the Thalan clan calls the souls for help us in the battle!” shouted Ehona “Help for us the wind, the land, the fire and the water to protect our place!”

The grumble turned even more loudly, the wolves’ quills quivered in concentration, the aura grew bigger.

“Now brothers! Show them the power of the Thalan clan! Firestorm!” the tigers howled in the same time whereof the aura raised and charged at the nagas.

Hurricane strength wind whizzed around it, the ground trembled. The nagas stunned by this sudden attack. In the next moment the fire has fallen at the serpents. They screamed and vanished between the flames.

The marsupial wolves also surprised watching this great power. Most of then collapsed to his knees and trembled, the attack fed up enormous part of their energies.

“We won” sighed Ehona “Finally it1s over.”

Suddenly from the flames a snake, admiral Nacon jumped out and he was even more rage than before. His roar chilled the blood in the tigers. Behind him another nagas emerged. The fire killed many of them or wounded them but they didn’t retreat. Their eyes shined with red killer light that the wolves never seen before. With a high speed they charged at the Thalan clan.

“Get weapon! Everybody get weapon quickly!” shouted Typhoon but he had no time to turn back. He felt great pain on his side then everything turned dark.
