Change your JPG to XCF for GIMP2

Okay so mu tut on GIMP2... dunno if it would work for the origional GIMP.

How to save your JPG file as a XCF file (will allow you to save your artwork AND it's layers without flattening the image.)

1. Go to File.

2. Click on Save As...

3. Saving a JPG file means it would say something like this... blahblah.JPG
Well... just erase the JPG and type XCF in it's place. so it's like this... blahblah.XCF

4. Select where ever you want to save it and click Save.

5. FIN!

I always was confused when I went to save my progress and the Program kept on telling me I had to flatten the image(I ruined one of my pics because of that). So just recently I did an internet search on saving layers on GIMP and it ushered me to GIMPs website. Just after reading a bit about XCF I thought I'd experiment, and it worked. So I thought 'Why not make a tutorial for those who are having the same problems?'.

So yeah a sucky tutorial but if it helps it's worth the time spent, right?
