Project Guardian: Guardian Earth - MIKUJI Oze

I'm sure no one remembers Oze; after all, the last time I drew him was nearly two years ago and I usually don't mention him. Come to think of it, the only one I ever really mention from this story is Mal. *ponders*

I'm doing what I like to call "Project Guardian", which is my own personal "challenge project" of sorts. A few months back, I finally came up with an ending to my little saga that I really liked (story's what, like ten years old this year, and I still hadn't come up with a fitting ending to it ), so I started getting all back into the groove. I wanted to draw every Guardian from all three generations of them, so I perused Posemaniacs.com and picked out poses that I really liked for each character. But since it's me, I never got around to seriously starting said project until now. ; In my sketch book, I have two unfinished sketches (which I'll most likely go back and redraw), but that's it.

I've been playing Chrono Trigger a lot, since I got it for Christmas. Chrono Trigger, among other things, had an influence on my ideas when I first played the SNES version many years ago, and most of the character themes and BGMs and whatnot that I've picked out over the years for the saga come from Chrono Cross's OST (the rest come from Final Fantasy XI). In short, I had a strong urge to pick up my oldest story again, and for me, that usually means drawing.

I don't know why I chose to draw Oze first, but there you have it. His bangs have been tamed since the last time I drew him, but other than that, he's remained largely the same. Looking at these two images, doesn't it look like two different people drew them? I think it does; I have vastly improved, and I'm very happy. I think I can finally say that I have a style all my own. I'm tempted to do one of those "through the years" things that I've seen so many other artists do.

Doesn't Oze's hair make you want to reach out and ruffle it? I do. |3
