This looks a lot better in person.
You know, when it's not half-assedly taped to my wall.
I was originally working on this back in August, but I never liked how it looked, so I touched it up a bit.
It's still not completely done, though.
One thing that will always bug me about this is that I straightened out his head (in the reference picture I used his head was tilted down slightly). I mean-- other than that, though I'm okay with its appearance now.
I either straightened out his head or lowered his shoulder...
Or both.
But it's a little late now.
The joker card he's holding is a real card.
I was too lazy to draw in the card itself.
Done in pastel on a big-ass sheet of pastel paper.

Nice! for a second I thought it was just a screencap.
I love the colouring! I'm not good with pastels AT ALL!

DANG! You did REALLY well with that! I wouldn't have known the pose was anything other than the way you drew it without your saying something. It looks great.

This looks very very nice. Even if the card isn't drawn in, it was used in a very interesting fashion!
Next time you run out of something, make sure to buy the same brand. I know it's hard when you can't find the same brand, so it seems better to just by the next best thing, but try (as you found out) to not do it because it's just a pain in the butt. Pigments just aren't the same from brand to brand.
Just a beautiful picture. :)
