Like McBob said, it amuses some people to go back to someone's page to see if they can find anything funny. However, the case in this comic is not such. There are 3 main types of people you frequently encounter on the Internet: those who are easily offended, those who seek to offend, and - in this case - those who seek to BE offended.
I believe that a lot of people are offended because they know it's right and they can't come up with any real argument.
Some are probably lead to read it because they are wanting to hear scripture.
Others possibly read it just to see how laughable/sad the attackers can be when they come ranting about your page.
