Sweet Unreal Tale

I’m writing this dark poetry
That gets stuck in your head
A fairytale that starts with “Once”
But I’ll end it with a “dead.”
And my eyes, they see the horror here
That makes this place so real
But I don’t want to be real
So I’ll make my own sweet tale

Where I won’t be this fucking wreck
With dark lined eyes, but bright instead
Where I ride dragons, where I’m a Prince
And maybe that I will be convinced
Yes, be convinced
That there’s more to this than fantasy

I’m just another bad black rockstar
Singing raw and hating stage
Staying out of spotlight
Until the sun will leave the day
And I am happy I will laugh
But it feels hollow and it never lasts
I’m just another body here
It’s so much more comfortable being sad

But maybe you will see the beauty
Not through my eyes, but in them
Can you see the sparkle there?
My own imagined Kingdom
With the fire and the throne
No concrete, only stone
With the Wizard and the Princess
I will never be alone
And all the rooms there, they call chambers
All the halls, they’re made of marble
All the girls know how to act right
All the boys kneel for their masters

So I’m writing this dark poetry
That repeats itself in my mind
“Once upon a time” I write
About femme fatales and happy knights
And if you listen carefully
I might just end it merrily
Instead of funerals, a life eternally
With a “they’ll live ever after, happily”
‘Cause my eyes, they see the horror here
That makes this place so real
But I don’t want to be real
So I’ll make my own sweet unreal tale

Where I won’t be this fucking wreck
With dark lined eyes, but bright instead
Where I ride dragons, where I’m a Prince
And maybe that I will be convinced
Yes, be convinced
That there’s more to this than fantasy

This made me almost cry. The tears are still there, in my eyes.
