XD boredom-- Neko's Memories

It was just another average day for the everyone in town, peaople going to work, teenagers hanging out with each other, and kids playing in the parks. In one of those parks, was a girl, she was sixteen years old. She had pink hair that was tied in ringlet curled, pigtails, her big black cap stay nestled on her head, and her deep red eyes stared out into space, her mind was'nt on the normal world around her. She was'nt thinking about hanging out with her friends, though her best friend May had offered her a visit to her home. She was'nt gonna watch her other friends, Nova and Dusk, start fishing.
She just wanted to sit on that park bench and start thinking. The young pink cat pulled something out of her black shots, what appeared to be a locket. Small and heart shaped, with a beautiful golden glow. It had her real name, no it did'nt say Neko on it, but instead it said Anni. Neko told all her friends the same thing, to call her Neko, some of her friends did'nt even know her real name. May of course did, but thats because they had met earlier when they were children, when she actually refeered to herself as Anni.
May had thought of using her last name, Neko, which was japanese for cat. It made enough sense to her, and soon the name stuck with her, she liked it better then her real name. Once again she read the writing, then she finally opened it up, inside was a picture of a young cat boy. His fur was a mixture of pink and red, he had three bangs that covered some of his eye, and big innocent red eyes. He was an adorable little boy, any girl would have gone crazy just looking at him, a small smile came to her face as she she slowly touched the small picture.
A faint whisper escaped her lips,"..Touya." she said, her soft voice said his name as if he were some sort of angel. Neko's warm smile soon became a sad frown. "Touya, im sorry I was too late." her voice started to crack, she felt like crying, this almost always happened whenever she reffered to the picture of her younger brother. Some might be wondering why she is so sad, it is'nt because he was kidnapped, or some other people had come to take him away. Touya, her brother, is dead.
What made it worse, she thought, or more likely she knew, that her brother died because of her. He was only three, how awful it was, such a pure innocent soul died in cold blood, so unexpected. It was a day she would'nt soon forget. She got off the bench, she slowly started making her way towrds the cemetary, today was the day. They day of her little brother's death. She finally came to it, she found his gravestone and rested items upon the grave. She set down flowers, candles, and a teddy bear.
She lit the candles with her fire power, and then brought a smile back to her face. " I brought these for you brother, I know how much you like these flowers and how much you loved teddy bears." her voice was still cracked as she said these words. Tears began to stream down her face, Neko could'nt hold back, she missed him to much. The cat removed her black hat and set it aside, then she kenlt down and began to pray for her brother.
Then soon, the thoughts of that dreadful day began to poor into her mind. She was in school watching the big clock, since her older brother had practice this afternoon, it was her job to pick up Touya from pre-school. The tiny seven year jumped around in her seat, she could'nt wait, she just felt so grown up. Soon the time came around, but she was having a bit of trouble gathering her stuff, so she might be a little late. No worry came over her though, she told Touya to wait, soon she was out and running. The pre-school started coming into view, but when she got to the gate, no Touya. Fear rushed over her, where was he, where could he be?
She went in every possible direction, he could'nt have gone that far, not in that small amount of time. She had only one more place to check, near the busy crossroad, she ran with all her might yelling his name at the time of her lungs. Her small little sneakers scratching against the pavement, the big huffs of breath that escaped her small mouth, and the sounds of rushing cars was all she could hear, no answer from Touya. Then she heard something that made her heart sink, the sound of someone yelling 'watch out' and with that, followed two gunshots. She was scared for Touya, if he was there, then he could be in trouble.
She saw a crowd at the crossroad, they were staring at something, but what? She was tiny enough to crawl under the row of legs, then she was finally in the center, what she saw made her gasp. It was the victim of the bullets, that victim was Touya. She started crying, she ran to her brother, he was shot in the head and stomach, so possibility of surving. The people in the crowd whispered, some cried, some were in shock. She held her brother tightly in a hug, then she began to whisper in his ear "It's okay Touya, everything will be all right, you dont have to leave."
The sounds of ambulence sirens suddenly filled her ears, then medical assistence made it's way through the crowd. hey were shocked to see the dead little boy, no matter, they beagn to take Touya.
"No! My brother, you cant take my brother, give him back, give him back!" she screamed at them. Her grip was not strong enough, Touya was out of her arms, she tried following them, someone from the crowd held her back. "Please," she pleaed, tears rolling down her face," dont take my brother, please, please!!"
Too late, soon her was strapped on a medical bed, and taken away to the hospital, she cried more now. She refused to believe it, she did'nt want to believe, he could'nt be dead. He could'nt be gone, he just could'nt, but he was. At that moment she caught a glimpse of someone, the figure was running. She escaped the grown up's arms and stormed after the him. Her little legs catching up with him, she yelled for him to stop. Her led her into a a garden, she was lost in the hedges, they formed a maze, she would never find him now. Neko was angry, so incredibly angry, she wanted that guy to suffer like Touya did, to face death, she wanted him....to burn.
She opened her tightly closed eyes, and was shocked, she was suddenly surrounded by fire. The same fire she wanted that man to burn in, she became scared how did this happen. Neko stared at her hands, they were on fire, but it did'nt burn. None the less it scared her, her face turned pale and she tried to get it off. She began shaking her hands trying to get it off her, then without thinking, she feel into the batch of flames. Why did she have to die this way, why? Wait, she was'nt dying, she looked at herself, she was still eprfectly intact, no burnt skin or clothes. Then she ran, all the way back to crossroad, the fire finally off her hands.
She stopped during her run, her lungs felt like they would explode, her legs were aching and tired. She did'nt realize the mistake she made, she stopped in the middle of the road, would she die now? Could she finally be with Touya, she wanted to, but the thought of death scared her, but it was happening now. There was a big truck coming her way, before it could hit her, she felt a pair of arms force her up, and soon she was out of the way and in someone's arms. Neko looked up at her hero, it was an old man.
This old man, appeared to be crying. She asked him why, had he witnessed the horrible death of her brother. He told her, the reason her got shot, was because her saved him. Neko was wide eyed, Touya had save this old man from gun shot. He risked his own life for a complete stranger. The old man said he was so sorry, he wished he could have had his life taken instead. Neko said it was alright, Touya would'nt want him to say such things. Touya saved someone's life, he was truely an angel.
Neko got up from her long prayer, and stared at the tombstone. Her eyes seemed a bit puffy, her face was tear stained, she started speaking something in japanese. It was a song, one she sang to her brother when he was a baby, she wanted to push that bad memory away. It was still fresh in her mind, then again, how could it not be. That was the same day her parents got angry at her, they beat her. Kicking her, punching her, slapping her, how awful it was. She was only seven, yet they beet her so badly, her older brother pleaded for them to stop. They did'nt, instead they started throwing large objects at her, the wounds were so bad, she had to be hospitlized. She never felt such pain, and never heard such harsh words, how she was a monster, a demon. That she "ever loved her brother", she was "a cold blooded killer".
They told her they did'nt want her, they did'nt love her, and that she was no child of theirs. Now she was nothing to them but a mund of clay, somthing to form into the next head of the family. She was merely something to help the family gain higher ranking, a statue a trophy, a mere figure. She hated it, thats why she never liked going home. She wanted to spend as much time being 'Neko' as she could, and not have to go back to being the fancy, elegent, mistreated 'lady Anni'.
As she sang her song, she felt a hand touch her head. It was'nt a normal one though, not one of a mere person, something more light almost like....an angel? She whipped her around, and caught a glimpse of a faint light. It lasted only a second, but she felt she knew what it was, more likely, "who" is was. "Touya?" she question, then looked up at the white clouds and deep blue sky. A smile graced her face, Touya did'nt want her to cry. She got up after blowing out the candles, then she alked away with a fina,l "I love you brother."
As she walked away she let out one last small tear. She thought she heard an answer, his small voice saying, "I love you too." Neko exited the cemetary, and made her way towards the forest and spotted May, Nova, and Dusk around the lake. May saw her puffy eyes and asked why she had been crying, that caught Nova's and Dusk's attention too. She merely gripped the necklace that was tucked in her pocket and said, "Just, remembering someone." With that said she joined them and exchanged a good chat. On occasion she would look to the sky, whenever she did, she thought she could see Touya.
The time to leave came, they said theit 'good byes' and headed home. Neko asked if she could stay over at May's. she said yes. They got there and watched movies, while eating some dinner May made. Neko went upstairs to go to sleep in the guest room, she changed into her pj's and liad her head on the pilllow. When she did she felt something, she reached under the pillow and pulled out a card with a flower attacthed to it. A flower she had never seen before, pure white and sparkling. She then opened the card, written in lovley cursive letters and gold pen, it read "Thank you for the flowers."
She asked May if she left anything for her, she replied 'no.' That only left one person, the only person she had given flowers to today. Touya, she wanted to thank him too, so she let out a faint thank you and went back to bed. The white flower sparkled in the pale moonlight.
