In a parallel universe...this guy is the helmsman for the
Enterprise-D. Yep--a Cardassian. I highly recommend the amazing Next Generation episode "Parallels" for more about the ways things could've gone.
As for why Ensign Mendral is wearing
this...well, I promise to give you a link to the story someday.
Once the image got in my head, I decided it would be great practice for drawing clothing--one of the main sticking points for me in drawing realistic people. (Well, realistic as you get in this circumstance, anyway!) I actually stood in front of the mirror with a scarf and wearing the coat you see in this drawing, in order to get a sense for the flow of the fabric. I still think I need a lot of work in that area, but I think this is progress, anyway.
Before anybody asks why the scarf falls that way on his neck...well, Google "Cardassian" and I promise it will all make sense.

Very well done! Clothing killed me when I ever draw anything. My characters in robes looked rather squarish, lol.
Major Says:
I truly do love how you put subtle differences in facial features to make them look realistic and unique.
That's something I'm still challenged with.
Skwisgaar Is My Man Says:
Very nice! I like his hat.

*chuckles* That's certainly a different look for a Cardassian. :-D
