So, I checked out LMMS today, which is a opensource (if you don't know what opensource is it means completely free) stab at FL Studio.
This is something I made in it pretty quickly. It actually works pretty well. That pad has a weird cutoff though. But you can import instruments I believe into LMMS, so I should be fine.
This kinda reminds me of The Postal Service...
