Chapter 2

As the boy continued down his path, the scenery around him began to change, from the meadow of beauty to a mild forest, still rather bright, but there were more trees then butterfly's now, and things seemed more, floaty. The boy looked around, the scenery was beautiful as always, and he got distracted and bumped into, something.
It was, well, he wasn't sure, it was two floating circles with dots in the middle, they kind of looked like eyes but they had arms growing out of them, one arm on the left, one on the right, which was holding a briefcase, and floating above them was a hat, below the circles looked like a left Parenthesis rotated 90 degrees, and curved a bit more, they kind of looked like legs, but because of the floating circles it kind of looked like a frown, but it was moving like legs, and, well, before the boy could examine it more it spoke. "Oh sorry, I'll be on my way now, I need to get to work, I hate my job, it makes me so sad, I want a promotion, I'll just work sadly until I get one" he mumbled on and on as he began to walk away, the boy felt bad for him, so he walked up to him and said "Why are you so sad? If it's because of your job then quit it and get one you like", "I can't quit my job, I'm so close to getting a promotion, and I need to feed my wife and kids, but I work so much I can barely remember their names and faces, I get home so late I can only eat the leftovers my wife prepared" and he began mumbling on and on again about how sad he was. The boy decided that he should ask him if he knows where the place where Ideas come from is. "Well, can you tell me how I can get to where Ideas come from?" the boy asked, "How would I know? I only go from home to work back and forth, no where else, I need a vacation, if I get that promotion I'll get a vacation, I wish, oh I'm so sad" the man went on again. "Can't you at least smile?" the boy asked, although he was asking more out of curiosity then trying to help this time, after all, it seemed like his mouth and legs were the same thing. "I can't smile, I'm too sad to smile, my co-worker told me fake smiles are bad for your heart, I need my heart to work so I can work, I hate working" and he went on some more. "Whats with this guy, why isn't he more observant? If he hates his job he should quit it, if he can't because he needs to support his family, but he can't remember who his family is because of his job, then maybe he should quit the job and go back to his family or just leave both and get on a new life?, even if he's abandoning them he doesn't even remember anything about them besides they're why he's working" the boy thought loudly, he thought it so loud that the man overheard him.

"You make a good point! I've always wanted to play the trombone! I should go do that! maybe I can take up oil painting again! maybe I can get back with my Family and! OH! I can cook them dinner for once!" he began rambling again, but this time happily!

The frown that was his legs turned into a smile, he began to roll which crushed his hat and arms, but fragments of them began to float over his eyes to make big eyebrows, he rolled off rambling of all the things he's wanted to do, and he was soon past the horizon.

The boy decided to continue on his way, when he saw another odd thing, two circles with pupils again, hovering above a straight horizontal line, with feet, walking towards him. It looked very odd, and was heading towards the boy. When it got to the boy the horizontal line opened up turning into a giant mouth with sharp teeth, the feet launched it towards the boy and floating about the eyes to make angry eyebrows, the boy quickly jumped out of the way and began to ran, with the strange monster is quick pursuit.
At some point the boy tripped and thought it was all over, the monster was about to eat him when the boy suddenly realized, "Wait a minute, when it's mouth closes it turns into the horizontal line again, the teeth disappear and I have nothing to be afraid of!", and just as he knew, as soon as it got close to him, the mouth turned into a horizontal line and it scurried away realizing that the boy had figured it out.

But when the boy stood back up he noticed that his surroundings were different, and had forgotten which direction he'd been heading in.
"If I'd been more observant I wouldn't have been running from that thing all this time, and I wouldn't have gotten lost" he thought to himself as he picked a random direction and headed in it, "I'll find the place where ideas come from eventually" he said, although he wasn't really thinking that when he finally got there, how he would get back to Suburbia.
But the boy didn't care, this place was much more exciting, and he has a map if he needs it, Right?.
