12-9 Engrish Journal

It was the Eve of Christmas, as a small family in Merryville sat and watched the nightly news. The weather was the same for the year, but an intriguing news story followed the announcement that it would be cold.

A UFO had been spotted over Louisiana.

It was going fast, and the news didn't stay on the story very long. A small, blond girl looked up at her dad.

"Who could that be, Anna Grace?" He smiled.

"Santa and Rudolph!"

Now that little girl is fairly grown, and every Christmas Eve she watches the news in hopes of seeing that UFO once again. The nightly news had never reported such an incident again, and yet it still verifies to her that there truly is a Santa Claus and Rudolph.

True story.
This happened when I was, oh, 3-4? The only reason I remember it is, well, UFO on the same night, that doesn't happen very often. It might've been a joke, it might not have, but the very next year. . .they didn't say there was a UFO over Louisiana on Christmas Eve, and they haven't done it since.
