Hey, an Art Themes Challenge pic! Yes, nearly two years later, I'm still plugging along on it.

This one is #52, "Deep in Thought".
I'm not sure if I want to go and add a background into this or not. Originally I had planned on it, but now I dunno.
At any rate, I'm sure glad I didn't give up on this. There were times where I really was going to just snap the sketchbook shut and forget it, but thankfully, I didn't listen to myself for once. It's obviously not perfect in any way, especially since this is my first time drawing this particular view, but I am still so happy with it. I think his top half came out wonderfully; it's his legs that I have issues with. I didn't foreshorten them enough. But even so, I'm proud of this.
The reference (
which can be found by clicking here) for this was a photo that I took back in May of Antonio, my Asian ball-jointed doll; I swear, they make the best drawing references.
It's been a while since I drew Kinjita.

As for the title, that was taken from the song "Long Kiss Good Bye", by HALICALI; I kid you not, I looped that song the entire time I was drawing this, which was about two and half hours or so.

; The lyrics, too, fit well with a particular bit of the story, but I think in general the song set the mood for this. To me, it looks like he's contemplating a lot of things, which is why I chose it to be #52 of the Challenge.
