As I See the Moon and Dream of When I Can Share It with You

When I rest my weary head and stare up at the stars,
that is when I think of you.
As my tired legs ache, but I see the moon,
that is when I think of you.
When my arms are sore and my hands long for your touch,
that is when I think of you.
Here now I lay, quiet, confident, but not complete,
that is when I think of you.

The deep black sky seems to know all but tell nothing.
It will not tell you, but you can read it.
You have to read it, you have to see into the stars, past their glow, to find their truth.

Two souls, one sky, one truth. What is truth? I’m always looking.

What can the stars tell me about you?
Are you all I imagine you to be?
Am I all I can be for you?

Questions answered on a meeting of souls, one hand in another, one cheek to my lips.

Till then I wait, and gaze at the sky.
With every twinkle, every shine, I see your deep brown eyes,
and I see your perfect face,
the face perfect for me,
the soul to fill mine and mine to yours.

Thoughts send my mind to dream, to wish, to be in paradise.

As I wake from slumber’s mist,
the crystal blue sky in my eyes,
and the sun’s warm rays on my cheek,
I think of you again.

When perfect light through viridian trees soothes the land from the speed of life,
I think of you again.

I wish perfect moments would last forever.
But this moment isn’t perfect yet,
not till you’re in my arms.

Part of this poem I wrote while stargazing, the rest I wrote the next morning. As you can imagine, I had a someone in mind.
