Did this for concept art. We had to get an object and either make up or depict a story about it. In my case, my grandpa's silver bracelet was what I used. I imagined him fighting demons in the South Pacific/Indo-China area and using his silver bracelet to do so, since monsters are weak to silver.
He really was a member of the Navy in WWII, and he actually did get sent on a secret project, but it turned out to be the design and construction of the first nuclear sub.
That aside, this was my first time painting a real person from reference photos. I had three pictures to work with, all taken nearly a decade apart. Needless to say, it was tough, and I spent so much time on the face I had to sort of mail it in, and I can't say the face is all that good. It was a good learning experience, though, and fun to do. I like the monsters.

I agree that the monsters look awesome! My favorites are those three guys on the right with their glowing eyes. I like how complete this feels as a composition.
