Gavin Rider Concept Art

A character which exists in the world of The Utopian Legend. This is a Centaur known as Gavin Rider.

Gavin was born and raised in England, where he follows the foot-- I mean, hoofsteps of his ancestors, who were great protectors of their homeland. He stands by the code of chivalry, and will go out of his way to help those in need. While most Centaurs are typically associated with the bow and arrow as the weapon of choice, Gavin prefers to carry a sword and lance to fight, and wears metal srmor for protection. As you could imagine, jousting is one of his favored pastimes. He also competes in the Neocropolis Colisem on some occasions in the hopes of being recognized throughout Utopia as a strong warrior.

I really surprised myself. Never having drawn a decent horse before (let alone a Centaur), I was somehow able to put all this together. If it isn't apparent, I sorta went along the lines of the Clydesdale when I created Gavin, though my true success in catching the breed is beyond my knowledge. Still, I'm happy because it actually LOOKS like a horse.

In related news, I had to research what "horse armor" would look like, and I went along with what I found. I also incorporated a cloth cover along the lower body; I just feel awkward leaving a centaur partly "nekkid." X3

The icon was kinds tricky to put together as well, but I decided to make my interpretation of a famed Centaur, the archer Saggitarius. It required more detail than I usually incorporate, but I still wanted it simplistic so as not to stand out TOO much.

Heh. If I were able to pull of a Centaur like Gavin, a Minotaur should be relatively easy...
