Sky Forest- "Drifting away into the heavens..."
There I lay, looking up at the ceiling I my bed thinking about the day, thinking about how it went. Good? I thought to myself. I leaned up on the wall next to myself to look at the small clock that rested on the wall next to my TV. 9:17pm it read, I turned and looked at the dream catcher placed on the small table across the room. With its soft blue color, and 8 beads crossing into the woven, and many feathers dangling from a small leather string, the catcher gave me the feeling of peace and tranquility within time. Something so small can do such a thing? But with a closer look, it gave you the feeling something was laying inside of it, waiting to be realized by something or someone, just, waiting there for the right person to cross its path. I stared at it until I could no longer by the haunting feeling it gave off once you stare at it for some time… I did not believe the stories that were told about the dream catcher, the stories about how the capture all the bad dreams and how they give you good ones in replacement. It was just a myth to me, nothing more. I rested my head on the soft pillow, staring at the ceiling, and shortly after, fell asleep. From the point after that I still cannot remember the feeling of drifting away, slowly falling asleep, but what I can remember that there was a feeling of calm, and from the blackest of night, came light as day. A bright light exploded in front of my eyes, then another, unsure what was going on, and still halfway conscious, a started to have a cold sweat, everywhere. It was so great the I could feel it even when I was asleep. Heart racing, a loud crashing echoing through my ears, worry and dread started to kick in, still unsure what was going on, or what was happening, I tried getting up, tried to wake up from a nightmare, trying to escape, but then, right in the middle, everything stops, light fades way to nothing, and the sounds of crashing and banging fell away to silence, feeling that I was awake, Still shaking, I open my eyes, and everything had a back and white color and seemed to have a calm, quiet sensation all around, in the walls, in the ceiling, in the air surrounding me. I get out of bed scared out of my mind. What is going on? I thought. Why is the color gone? Where am I? Then I look at the bed, and there I lay, sleeping, seeing myself in a peaceful sleep, calmly breathing, as if nothing happened, sweat could be seen on my forehead, slowly falling. I look to the dream catcher, and all around it was a glowing light, glowing with such balance within its beauty. In the center was a blue and white light that was a still as water, but as violent as the wind of the sea. I reached down to touch it, but the closer I reached out to it the hotter it got, burning me as if I were reaching into a open flame, then, a voice as clear as day, spoke from the light…It was the sound of a small girl singing a small love song with a slight sadness within the words that came out of her…
“Hear my quiet prayer…Listen to my quiet voice… Step inside the light… And you will see why I have chosen you…” Said the ghostly voice, echoing through the walls of time there it sang, over and over… Forever getting sadder, as if someone she had loved never returned to love her back…
“May the Light guide you…Through the place that I call home… Look inside this light… And you will know why I have chosen you…See My world, through the eyes of another, see the light through the heart that you desire… Hold my hand forever and ever… Since it is the way it shall be forever… See what I have seen, see what you can see, and the world will change to you… This world to me is the only world I know… come and you will see…” Sang the voice.
“Hear my quiet prayer… listen to the voice that calls to you…”
And the song stops as sudden as it started…The quiet voice rang into my mind, a peaceful tone, and a beautiful song…I looked at the Dream catcher, still glowing the eerie glow within the center. A feeling that someone was behind, and watching me rang through out my body. I turned around and there she was, in a glow of light…
It was a very small girl, only 4 feet tall, dressed in white and gold, a necklace around her neck with a fire red crystal crafted in silver, and shone with a thousand stars. The little girl looked as if she were an angel from the heavens above the vast clouds. Her head was down, so that I could not see her face, she wore a beautiful dress, thin and slender, with golden bracelets and a headband toped with a rose crafted of silver and shone as bright as a star in the moonlight. The little girl had small feet, small hands, fire red hair that flowed like water, and golden, pale skin, but what was strange; she had no ears like humans did… Instead, she had small ears that reminded me of the cat I loved, but passed away many years ago. Pointed down, hands folded together in a respectful way. She held out her small hand as if she was going to take me somewhere, to guide me somewhere new, to lead me, to teach me something, that I have never heard before… I rested mine on top of her small hands… And she looked up to look at my eyes, and I looked at hers, we both stared at each other for some time, and in that time, time stopped, nothing moved, all light faded away, and all reality was just both me, and the little girl. She looked as if she was from some place different from us… Some place you can only dream of…
But her eyes, Red as Fire, as clear as the clearest gem gem, and with such unbelievable beauty, just looking at them could make anyone fall in love with this small little girl…
“So you listened… Thank you…” the girl said, her face glowing, and a blinding light exploded in front of me, and I lost all sense, of who I was before I met the little girl…
~~
All was forgotten after that moment… Who I was, the memories of the other side of reality, thoughts, feelings all were forgotten… As hard as I tried, I could not retrieve the memories of what I have felt before the dream while I was inside it, nothing, no sense on which I was before, it was like I was reborn in a new world, a new life. I was not Max Silva; I was someone else, living on another world, a world that faded away out of reality, but all held together by thought and reason like no other dream. A dream that had a sense of gravity, a sense of understanding and connection between the two worlds, lost in a vast sleep, never to forget of the place, the world that I lived a second life in…
